I rushed out of the door again, hailed a taxi and headed to KTV. Wen Jing called my mom and told her about my moving house thing. As soon as she said it, Wen Jing immediately gathered a group of people to go to KTV and sing, waiting for me to go there and pay the bill, under the name of "celebrating my new home". It's really "said" better than "sung".
I told the driver to drive slowly, and I would give him more money if he was delayed. Because I wanted to continue sleeping in the car. The driver turned his head around and looked at me with a puzzled expression, I guess he didn't understand. From the rearview mirror, I saw my pale face and said to him, "Driver, I'm sick." He still looked suspicious, saying "If you're sick, go to the hospital, why are you going to KTV?" I was too lazy to explain, so I just said, "Okay, driver, you drive however you want."
I guess that guy was scared by me, afraid that I would die in his car before we arrived at KTV. So he drove very fast, and as soon as I opened my eyes, the neon lights outside the window were flashing.
I rushed into the private room, saw Wen Jing eating watermelon, and there were some people around her, including Bai Song and his girlfriend, and others that I could have guessed even with my eyes closed. Gu Xiao Bei was sitting next to Yao Shan Shan, not saying a word, staring at his phone screen. When I came in, he looked up at me for three seconds, seemed like he wanted to say something but didn't, then lowered his head and continued looking at his phone.
I kicked a few people away and squeezed into Wen Jing's side, sat down and said viciously, "You're really a demon." After that, I lay on the sofa and fell asleep. I was too tired.
When I woke up halfway through, someone patted my shoulder, and I saw Gu Xiao Bei sitting next to me. He looked at my face very seriously and said, "Lin Lan, help me with something."
Actually, it's because I always felt like I owed Gu Xiao Bei a lot of things, so if I could repay him, I would. From the first year of high school when we started dating until the third year of college, six years had passed. In those six years, Gu Xiao Bei listened to me for everything, spoiled me, and indulged me, making me very self-centered. He always smiled at me with a warm expression, his eyes shining brightly like the North Star.
Even the last time I said we should break up, he didn't say anything and just agreed. The day of our breakup was at his house, he had a bad cold, wearing the thick hat, gloves, and scarf that I gave him, looking like an old man from Northeast China. I said we should break up, he nodded, then went to the bathroom. I leaned against the door outside and heard the sound of continuous coughing, the water tap, and the toilet flushing inside. Among those sounds, I faintly heard Gu Xiao Bei's low sobbing, very soft and gentle, just like his speaking voice.
I slid down the door, my tears pouring out like a flood.
