Rain and Tears

  ‘The walls won’t hold!’

  That day began terribly.

To save the hero, the Kingdom which summoned him used a spell to turn the monster’s attention towards some other place.

Namely, the village I was in.

’Tim, watch out for that orc! Anna, more cover fire! Nathan, keep going!’

I had worked with the kids for two years, so we were eliminating the monsters quite efficiently.

  ’Fell Blade!’

During these two years, I had worked hard to create an ‘ultimate weapon’, the dream of every middle schooler.

A sword with three layers of threads, each finely controlled using my Sewing Skill, each using a different type of metal.

The first layer was made using Osmium, the densest metal known to man. They were thick threads with pointed edges converging at the tip of the blade and would be used to pierce through multiple enemies at once in close range. The second layer was made of lonsdaleite, a variant of carbon with a hexagonal atomic structure that is even harder than diamond. Every one of these finely tuned threads were wrapped around several times and could extend up to five meters. It took me a year just to get this layer done. The bottom layer was made of Mythril, a metal not normally found in my home world. It was capable of slashing through magic, and could withstand heat better than Tungsten. Truly, the best sword I could create.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Of course, I’d also been training for the past two years. As I moved forward, corpses of various monsters littered my path.

  And yet…

  ’Sui, run!’

  It was Kane.

I had met up with him quite a lot during my time in the village. He was quite strong, and his skill, [Swordmaster], should have let him defeat monsters easily.

  An old acquaintance greeted me.

’You stand in my way yet again. I should have killed you back then in the forest…’

  ’Minotaur…’

’Heh. You thought I was any old Minotaur?’

’He’s one of the Demon King’s generals, Taurus!’

’I’ll have my revenge for my missing arm today! Ruptured Skies!’

In an instant, I drove the sword into the general and used the threads to rip his body up from the inside.

  ’You fool!’

  He drew his blade.

I felt a blazing pain across my stomach.

’So.., I still couldn’t win after all this time?’

He was bleeding out, but he survived. I would not.

  ’Master!’

  ’Nathan, ru-‘

His head was crushed by Taurus’ hand. The ground was coloured red.

’No… John, Tim, Anna, Mary, run!’

  ’I’ll stop you, Taurus!’

  ‘Die.’

  ’Stop!’

I couldn't move. I could only watch as John got split in two. Monsters already overran the town gates.

  ’Please, just… run…’

  ’I won’t let you.’

I saw Taurus chasing after the remaining people.

Every cell in my body told me to run. But I couldn’t.

[Skill: Tailor’s Arm has been activated]

A Giant, dark tendril came out of my right shoulder. It looked like an arm, but much more horrifying.

  ‘What… no, it can’t be… the Progenitor?’

  ’This’ll work. Die.’

My body moved on its own. The tendril spread into trillions of threads, and pierced through every monster around and in the town.

  Taurus tried to run.

  ’You won’t escape.’

In an instant, the tendril caught up, wrapped around Taurus, and… consumed him.

It looked like jaws had come out of my arm and swallowed Taurus whole.

I felt something enter me, and my wounds steadily healed.

The last thing I remember seeing was Tim, Anna and Mary running over.
