The golem roared, its massive fists slamming into the ground and sending shockwaves through the chamber. Elliot, Kael, and Lila scattered, each taking cover behind the ancient pillars.
“Any ideas?” Elliot shouted, his voice barely audible over the golem’s roars.
“We need to disable it!” Lila called back. “Aim for the glowing runes on its chest!”
Kael nodded and nocked an arrow, taking careful aim. He fired, the arrow striking one of the runes and causing the golem to stagger. But the creature quickly recovered, its eyes locking onto Kael.
“Elliot, distract it!” Kael shouted.

“Me?!” Elliot protested, but he didn’t have time to argue. The golem was already charging toward Kael, and Elliot knew he had to act fast.
He darted out from behind the pillar, waving his arms and shouting. “Hey, big guy! Over here!”
The golem turned, its glowing eyes focusing on Elliot. It let out a roar and charged, its massive fists raised.
Elliot barely managed to dodge the first blow, rolling to the side and scrambling to his feet. He ran, leading the golem away from Kael and Lila, who were preparing their next move.
“Hurry up!” Elliot shouted, narrowly avoiding another swing of the golem’s fist.
Lila raised her staff, her eyes glowing with magical energy. She unleashed a powerful spell, a beam of light striking the golem’s chest and shattering the remaining runes. The golem let out a final roar before collapsing into a pile of rubble.
Elliot slumped to the ground, breathing heavily. “Remind me why I signed up for this again?”
Kael grinned. “Because you’re a hero, remember?”
