The forest started to clear up. As you stepped out into the clear sunlight, you felt the heaviness in your heart and on your shoulders slowly diminish. You suddenly felt renewed, like the gloominess that surrounded you before had finally left you. It was strange; you didn't even realize you were that tense a few seconds ago.
"Hey, Lone man?" You said as you realized that he was nowhere to be found.

Was it all a dream? Certainly, looking back at the events earlier made it feel like it was just some kind of really bad lucid dreaming. Your theory was shattered when you saw a faint shadow behind one of the huge trees.
"I-I can't go any further," Lone man said, his voice faint. "But you're already safe there. You just have to follow that road. It will lead you to the nearest town."
You nodded quickly. "Yes, thank you. I will never forget your kindness."
