In a dark void..

  There were two strangers floating midair, having a conversation with each other. A translucent screen was hovering over them, flashing with various colours and lights, with an array of options presented on it, which kept moving. As one of the options shifted, one of the strangers said to the other, "This one seems promising".

  The other one said, in a male sounding voice, "I agree with you, but I propose a challenge".

  "Oh really?" asked the one with the feminine voice, turning to look back in shock at the person next to her, as this kind of thing hadn't happened for several years.

  The one with the male sounding voice replied, "Yes, I know it's unorthodox, but the potential of this one surpasses all of the others combined, and a challenge will help him polish his skills and realise his potential".

  As the one with the feminine voice was about to reply, her eyes glazed over and a massive fluctuation appeared around her, her eyes widened a she leaped towards the screen and pressing a button on it, the screen emitted a flash of purple light and disappeared. The man stared at her in shock, thoroughly confused on why would she do that, but suddenly a massive fluctuation hit him, and both he and the woman disappeared from the void.
