Ch 189 – Elder Brother

After the emotional reunion at the Vermillioe, Alex felt a pull to reect with his past. He turo Mereoleona, who was still basking in the warmth of her newfound memories with Fuegoleon and Elysia.

"Where I find Yami?" He asked, his voice steady yet filled with anticipation.

Mereoleona smiled knowingly. "He's probably at the bar, drowning his sorrows etting into trouble. He's always found so a drink."

She gestured towards the dire of the capital. "You'll find him there."

"Thanks, Lioness," Alex replied, a hint of nostalgia g his words. With a nod, he left the estate, his heart rag at the thought of seeing his old friend again.

The atmosphere of the capital was lively, but Alex made his way through the bustling streets with purpose. He reached the bar, its familiar wooden sign swingily in the breeze.

The chatter of patrons filled the air, a mix of ughter and the king of gsses. Pushing the door opeepped inside, sing the dimly lit room until his eyes nded on a familiar figure slumped over the bar.

Yami Sukehiro, the former captain of the Bck Bulls, sat nursing a drink.

Alex approached cautiously, feeling the weight of the years pressing upon him.

"Yami," He called out, his voice cutting through the noise.

Yami lifted his head, eyes narrowing as he gnced up.

"Do I know you?" He asked, his tone a mix of irritation and fusion.

"It's me, Asta," He replied, trying to vey the depth of their bond with just his voice.

"Asta?" Yami squinted, struggling to pce the face that was so familiar yet distant. He studied him for a moment longer, and then Alex reached behind him, pulling out a bck robe embzoned with the Bck Bull emblem.

"I still have this," He said, holding it up for Yami to see.

The moment the robe caught Yami's eye, a flicker nition sparked in his expression. Memories crashed over him like a tidal wave, and the anger of the lost years bubbled to the surface.

In an instant, he stood up, his fist flying forward to ect squarely with Alex's jaw.

"Damn it, Asta!" Yami shouted, frustration mingling with relief. "You scared the hell out of us!"

Alex staggered back slightly but quickly regained his footing, a grin spreading across his face. "It's good to see you too, Captain Yami."

Yami took a deep breath, his irritation fading as he embraced the familiarity of his old friend. "You could have at least told me in advance... And why don't you send a letter or something? We thought you were gone food!"

"Yeah, well… things got plicated," Alex admitted, rubbing his jaw pyfully. "But I'm baow. I want to make up for lost time."

Yami's stern demeanor softened as he cpped a hand on Alex's shoulder, a rare smile breaking through. "Let's catch up then. What's a drink without good pany?"

They settled into a booth at the back of the bar, drinks in hand. As they ked their gsses together, the warmth of friendship enveloped them once more.

"So, what's been happening with the Bck Bulls?" Alex asked, eager to hear the tales of their old rades.

Yami unched into stories of their escapades—how he mao keep the team together despite the chaos that surrouhem. Laughter echoed between them, eaecdote a reminder of the bond they shared and the battles they had fought side by side.

Yami pulled him along to the Clover Castle to meet Julius. The King would be delighted to know of his return.

The duo actually secretly infiltrated the castle and nded on the baly. Alex stepped on with a calm, anding aura. His half-red, half-grey hair glinted uhe moonlight, and his eyes reflected ahly wisdom.

Julius was gazing at the stars. Feeling a presence, he looked to the side and saw Yami, greeting him with a smile before he faced Alex, their gazes meeting. For a moment, the room was silent. Then, as if the spell of amnesia had cracked like fragile gss, Julius's memories came flooding back. A burst of magical energy erupted around him, his power surging in sheer joy and surprise.

"Asta!" Julius excimed, his voice filled with raw emotioepped forward, his usual posure repced with the joy of a long-lost reunion. "You've returned… after all these years."

Alex offered a small smile. "It's good to see you, Julius. It's been a while."

Julius's smile wideears of happiness welling up in his eyes. "The stro Magic Emperor in our history… you've e back at st! The kingdom will be thrilled to know you're here, but—"

He paused, his expression being serious. "How is it that so many, including myself, fot about you? What kind of spell did you cast that could affect even the most powerful mages?"

  Alex chuckled lightly and expined.

"The hax that erased me from everyone's memories," Alex began, "is a unique form of magic tied to my agic. It's a defense meism I created to ehat the kingdom could grorosper without being burdened by my absence or power. I needed everyoet me so that the alliances between the four kingdoms would be based on mutual trust and respeot on fear of my strength."

He paused, gauging the reas of those present. Julius's eyes remained wide, but he listened ily.

"The hax works by altering the flow of memories and perception," Alex tinued. "It s itself around a person's core recolles, hiding the memories of me deep within their subscious. Only through signifit emotional ical triggers—like witnessing my power or feeling my presence— the spell unravel and those memories resurface."

Julius nodded, uanding dawning on his face. "So, the spell ensured peace… but at what cost to you?"

Alex waved his hand, not g about such small things at all.

Julius stepped forward, pg a hand on Alex's shoulder.

"You carried this burden alone for so long," He said, his voice heavy with gratitude. "But perhaps now… we find a way forward together."

Alex's lips curved into a small smile. "Perhaps."

"Oh yeah, what about your devil? What was his name... Liebe, right?" Julius asked curiously.

Alex smiled and replied. "Actually, a ferior when my prew stronger. I revive my mother and then reinate Liebe into a human. I wipe their memories of my existend let them live happily, away from all the crazy mess."

"And what if they will remember everything iure?" Julius asked curiously.

Alex shook his head. "That is not possible. When I applied the Hax on you and everyone else, I was not that profit in using it but now..."

He didn't o speak any further and Julius uood everything.
