Chapter 83: Six-Armed Serpent Demon
"Kid, who is she...?"
Staring at the blue-haired little angel in front of him, Stone involuntarily took a step back, then curiously asked. Hearing Stone’s question, Alex first patted Ikaros’s head to calm her down before answering.
"This is my panion, summoned from another world... her name is Ikaros."
"Hello."
Fag Ikaros, Stone didn't have the same easygoing demeanor as he did with Alex. Not only him, but the asus Knights also looked at Ikaros with serious expressions, bowing respectfully. Ikaros, however, merely huffed in respohough after a g Alex, she politely nodded back.
"Uh, Ikaros, what did you find during your reaissance?"
Notig the stramosphere, Alex coughed to break the awkward silend asked. Upon hearing his question, the blue-haired angel suddenly remembered something, giving her head a light tap.
"ht! Master, I followed that little demon as you instructed and found a group of cultists. They were digging through some ruins like sgers."
"Digging for trash?"
"Yeah."
Ikaros proudly Alex's surprised question.
"They seemed to be searg fments of something… it looked like an ugly demon..."
"Do you know what that statue looked like, Lady Angel?"
At this point, the old man, who had remained silent, suddenly turo Ikaros and asked. After gng at Alex, Ikaros pouted slightly.
"Of course, I sed the energy fluctuations of those fragments and analyzed a few. If you piece them together, it should look like this..."
As Ikaros spoke, she waved her hand through the air, and soon, a strange demon appeared before everyo resembled a hybrid between a human and a venomous ss lower body was a long serpent tail, while its upper body was humanoid. As for its head, it had the face of a human female, but with three eyes on its forehead. pared to that, the six arms spread across its sides seemed less remarkable.
"Something like this."
After casually summoning the demon's image, Ikaros returo Alex’s side. Both the old man and Stoared at the proje with serious expressions.
"Is this... a Six-Armed Serpent Demon?"
"This is more than just a Six-Armed Serpent Demon."
Uohe old man's expression grew even more solemn.
"Do you see the third eye in the ter of her forehead? Among all the demons, only one cursed being possesses such a feature—Three-Eyed Bel!"
"You meahe subordinate of Baal? The one hailed as the most ing Six-Armed Serpent Demon Lord in history?"
Stone's face showed shock upon hearing this. He wasn’t the only one—many of the Pegasus Knights around him also grew visibly uneasy.
The destru of Summor and the beginning of the Dark Age were, of course, caused by the Hell Demon King Baal. But Baal, being a Demon King, only o shout slogans about destroying the world. The actual work of exeg sus was left to his subordinates.
And Bel was the most terrifying among them.
Acc to human records, when Bel first passed through the Gate of Hell into the main world, she was merely a captain in Baal's personal guard. However, Bel quickly caught the Demon King’s attention with her "outstanding" work. She personally led the massacre that wiped out Cadra—the nation that uhe atta Summor.
Bel had thrown Hell Serpent Eggs into Cadra’s underground water sources and wells. The people of Cadra, after drinking the water, gradually became weaker. Most of them thought it was just the prolonged rainy season affeg their health, and only a few noticed something amiss. But before they could figure out what was happening, disaster struck.
On the final rainy night of the season, the serpent eggs, having absorbed enough energy, hatched. Hell serpents tore open people’s stomachs, emerging from their corpses and dev their flesh in a frenzy, growing stronger by the minute. In almost a single night, Cadra became a blood-soaked sughterhouse filled with writhing snakes. Many of the cities were engulfed in seas of serpents.
This horrific event naturally caught the attention of the Holy Temple, but unfortunately, at that time, the Temple was also utack by Baal’s demon legions and had no resources to spare for other nations. With her newfound "minions," Bel pletely swept through the Kingdom of Cadra, turning it into a dead zone.
Bel’s "achievements" naturally earned her the reition of Demon King Baal. She romoted from a captain to a legion ander, and she took the opportunity tanize a legion of Six-Armed Serpent Demons that had emerged from the Gate of Hell. After a series of wars, she became a Six-Armed Serpent Demon Lord.
She was deceitful, sinister, and utterly ruthless, stopping at nothing to achieve her goals. At the same time, she remained fiercely loyal to Baal. tless civilians perished at her hands, and every hero who set out to defeat her met a grisly end, leaving many to doubt if anyone could ever kill her.
But in the end, Bel met an ued demise. Three heroes, disguised as fallen ones, infiltrated Summor and used the power of the goddess to destroy the Gate of Hell, banishing Baal back to the Abyss. Naturally, as Baal’s most loyal subordinate, Bel didn’t survive either.
Ironically, though Bel had not reappeared after that, the allied forces remained on high alert, even knowing that Baal had been banished. Bel was simply too ing and too ruthless. Even after the allied forces had wiped out all of the demon legions from the main world, many still feared that Bel had faked her death or hidden away somewhere, plotting a return.
This fear persisted for fifty years. Eventually, with time, people began tet about it.
But now, looking at the image before them, everyone once again recalled the terror of being dominated by the Six-Armed Serpent Demon and the humiliation of being toyed with in her grasp...
It now seemed that Bel had indeed died back then, but these cultists were trying to resurrect the terrifying legend!
"We must stop them! No matter what these cultists are pnning, if it involves Bel, we have to destroy it! Even Demon King Baal isn’t as terrifying as that cursed Six-Armed Serpent Demon!"
Stone ched his fists, his expression grim, and the old man nodded in agreement.
"Yes, we must act... but relying on just us won’t be enough. We need reinforts! Not to mention, they’ve gotten hold of the key! Who knows what they’re pnning to do with it!"
"The key?"
Alex uzzled by the mention of a key.
"What key?"
"You don’t know?"
Sto out a displeased snort in respoo Alex’s question.
"The mage you captured, Charles, is a watcher from the Tower of the Heavens stationed here. He possesses a ring with a purple gemstohat temporarily uhe barrier in this area!"
"What?"
Alex was stunned.
"Something that important, and you entrusted it to a traitor? Don’t you do background checks before sending people out on missions?"
"Who knows what’s going on with the Tower of the Heavens! None of those mages ever take things seriously! I swear, they’re all bookworms with no on sense!"
Stone waved his fists in frustration, clearly irritated by the inpetence of the mages from the Tower of the Heavens. As he spoke, he turo one of the Pegasus Knights nearby.
"Return to the temple immediately and inform the cil of bishops that the cultists are engaging in activities reted to Bel, the Six-Armed Serpent Demon, in the Land of the Fallen. The enemy has a rge number of people, and the situation is unclear. Request reinforts at ohe rest of you, stay on guard!"
"Yes, sir!"
The Pegasus Knight quickly saluted, mounted his steed, and galloped into the sky, disappearing in the blink of an eye. Meanwhile, the other knights moved their pegasi to a hidden spot oher side of the hill, keeping a vigint wat their surroundings.
Now that’s more like it.
Watg this, Alex breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed the temple was smart enough to call for reinforts rather than rushing in headfirst. He had been worried that they might charge in recklessly. Acc to Ikaros’s report, there were not only cultists but also various demons, numbering over a hundred. Even with their abilities, they were outnumbered. Alex wasn’t fond of the typical hero story where you’re ered but somehow mao turn things around.
Why waste manpower when reinforts are avaible?
"Ikaros," Alex called out, issuing his and.
"tio monitor the cultists a any unusual movements immediately. If they do anything strange, notify me at once. Uood?"
"Uood, Master."
Ikaros quickly nodded, gnervously at the others, and theered her stealth form, disappearing into the sky.
"I hought you’d be able to get an angel on your side, kid."
Watg the angel vanish from sight, Stone clicked his tongue in amazement and turo Alex, shaking his head.
"I knew you were special... but this is something else…"
It seemed Stone didn’t want to say too mu front of the others, but Alex uood what he meant—he was referring to Alex having divine prote from an angel. After all, Stone had long assumed that Alex had a guardian angel watg over him.
ht!
Alex suddenly remembered something.
"Master, should we aow?"
"No, not yet. Since yuardian angel is already scouting, it’s best to be cautious. When it es to anythied to Bel, we ever be too careful, so we’ll wait for now... What’s on your mind?"
"Phew..."
Relieved by Stone’s response, Alex took a deep breath before turning to him with a serious expression.
"Since we have time, there’s something I’d like to ask you."
