Hey guys I hope you enjoyed chapter oneNo one's POVIt was twenty minutes from the Reservation to Crescent Valley High. The school was stated in the middle of town, a massive school with almost everything you could fit in a school (mostly due to the investor and past students that pour money into the school). Swimming pool, basketball court, track field, soccer and football field, and a tennis court. And that's just for sports. The school also has a killer music room (soundproof), an art room, and a gym. It was the pride of the town due to the school's performance levels and achievements. Over the years this small town has seen an increase in popution. Paul pulled into the parking lot surrounded by an ocean of students some getting out of buses, bicycles, and cars. After parking Paul and Sarah went to find their friends, Cole disappeared somewhere in the crowd leaving Sophia and Josh at the door when they heard someone called out. Josh turned to see a tall, muscur, pale, dark grey-eyed, dark-haired boy. He had this mysteriously regal intensity about him that most girls found attractive."Raygan," Sophia pronounced crossing her arms."Redway," Jonathan replied with a devilish smirk before looking at Joshua, his face now emotionless, like there was this tension between them. They stood there in silence for about a minute sizing each other up before a familiar voice called out. It was Shayloh followed by Chloe smiling while walking over to them. Sophia turned back to speak to Jonathan but he was no longer there which she found strange, she didn't hear him or feel him move but he was gone."Ho chicas. How was your summer, sorry for not calling you guys st night. I was caught up in one of my art pieces," Sophia asks hugging her two best (girl) friends." It's all good Rebel we know how you get when you start a new piece. Besides if we're mad at you, next week Saturday's party is gonna be less fun," Chloe said."A party. Next week Saturday. But school just started, shouldn't we be I don't know focusing," Sophia replied."Rex Soph, Travis' just throwing a little party to catch up," Shayloh expined.Chloe and Shayloh were Sophia's best friends since Kindergarten. They were like the sisters she never had. Chloe was the spontaneous one and the one that didn't worry over things she can't control. She had crimson hair that at times looked like it was on fire. She had fair, fwless, smooth skin, light green eyes, full lips with a (slim thick) figure. Shayloh was more of a flirt than both of her friends. She had this sly, seductive look about her that all the boys loved. It was in the eyes, those big grey eyes that calm the most short-tempered boys but at the same time turn them into horny animals. She like her friends looked like she was molded by Gods. Her brownish - red hair was braided over her shoulder dressed from head to toe in leather looking like a biker chick. Most of the boys called them "sex symbols" but Shayloh was a vixen.Soon the bell rang and css began with everyone in their seats with books out. Sophia sat in the fourth row of the second column from the left. Josh sat on her left followed by his two friends, Travis and Daniel behind him. On the right was Cole pying thumb wrestling with his friend Jefferson (Jeff). Chloe and Shayloh were in front of him chatting with Sophia about fashion. The door opened and a beautiful woman who looked to be in her te twenties stepped in greeting everyone with a warm smile followed by a blond-haired boy dressed in grey cargo pants and a white V-neck, long-sleeve shirt with white Tim's."Good morning css welcome to your first day of Sophomore year. Most of you had the chance of being my students st year but for those who I haven't taught. My name is Miss Howard. Today we have a new student, this is Michael Lewis," said Miss Howard. "Ok, Michael you can sit behind Sophia." She pointed to the seat behind Sophia then he nodded as he walked down the row. He moved slowly watching everyone's faces like he was studying them. Chloe reached across the row and touched Sophia just to mouth the word "hot" to which Sophia smiled and then whispered "down girl". Just when Sophia turned her attention back to the teacher her eyes were met with his.Michael's POVI stood there, looking into those blue eyes, eyes that for some reason I couldn't properly describe. They were soft and kind with a hint of mischievousness but at the same time steely cold, dangerous with a bit of hurt. Hurt, who could hurt someone like her? I looked outward looking at the owner of those mesmerizing eyes. She had long raven bck straight hair that stopped in the middle of her back, her neatly shaved eyebrows were straight with a slight curve at the end, a small straight nose rested just above her sexy lips, followed by her deep dimpled cheeks. It was then I realized she was smiling at me and that I was staring at her way longer than I should've."Hmmm hey, are you ok?" She asked me showing off her pearly whites."Yeah I am thanks, you just look like someone I knew," I lied trying to make it look less obvious but her smirk followed by the chuckles from the two girls on my other side confirmed that it wasn't believed."You might want to sit down, this is starting to get a little awkward," she said all the while smiling. I nodded and took my seat behind her. The hour flew by fast and before I knew it the bell rang so I got up and headed to my next css which was art. For most of the English lesson I was trying to get a read on my new cssmates, most I could read but Sophia and her friends who I found out were named Chloe and Shayloh were hard to read not to mention the guys Joshua, Travis, and Daniel who were just smiling and chuckling most of the time.I wanted to say something to Sophia after css but lost sight of her in the crowd. The art room was a few csses down from English with a gss double door. The room was big much bigger than the one in my old school and way more stocked out. I mean almost everything an artist needed was here: a tie and dye section, a part on the back for sculpting and pottery, and in the center were canvas, some empty, some with unfinished work. Surrounded by the walls were pieces by the students and looking at this made me realize how much I need to improve. At my old school, I was regarded as one of the best but I don't think that's gonna fly here because these kids are amazingly talented. Some were modern, abstract, oil paintings, and old Japanese and Chinese-style, portraits. I looked across to the left and saw her, she had on her overall sitting in front of her canvas with earbuds working on her piece." O..Kay css welcome back to another wonderful year of expression. To all my new students I am Miss Lopez," said our energetic teacher. "Double R I've sent one of your abstract and nature pieces to some of my friends in Universities so be on the lookout." I followed the line of sight to realize it was Sophia who was still working and only signaled with a thumbs up. There were whispers amongst us as some smiled while others looked on in awe. I leaned over to a girl that was beside me."Hey, why did Miss Lopez call Sophia Double R?""Oh Miss L like to call us by our artist handle. Almost all of us have one, mostly because some of us sell our artwork or are graphic designers. Rebel Rose is Sophia's so Miss just shortened it," she spoke with admiration for Sophia."Is she that good?" I inquired."Oh yeah she is, Sophia is the top student here. Miss Lopez loves all of us but everyone knows Sophia is the favorite and we're ok with it. Sophia never makes us feel inferior or rubs it in. She's down to earth and she helps us. Last year I wasn't this good," she pointed at her portrait of Morgan Freeman. If I wasn't seeing her drawing it I would have believed that she printed it or photoshopped it. "But after some after-school lessons, I'm now in the top five in the css. The only one that comes close to Sophia is Jonathan Raygan, the boy sitting next to her."Mr. Lewis are you ok, how are you settling in," asked Miss Lopez. She was young I'd say her mid-twenties, slim built, with brown eyes that showed nothing but wonder and joy like nothing in the world got to her. Her hair was rolled into a bun as she stood beside me. She was in old baggy jeans and an oversized shirt with a painted old Nike."Yeah kinda, it's just looking at everyone's artwork that made me feel out of pce.""I understand completely but let me ask you a question. What is the best quality a person can have?""I don't know wisdom......?""No, the most important quality is perseverance. The will, the drive to do/be better. Many of the students' work here had to keep up, no, they wanted to catch up. Just look at Lily, the girl you were just talking to, she was at the bottom of the css but with some perseverance and someone to help her, she quickly became one of my top five students. Just believe in your abilities, you'll be surprised at what you can do." And with that bit of sage, Miss Lopez walked off back to her desk."That's not half bad pale face," said an angelic voice. I looked up to see those beautiful blue eyes again."Pale face?" I inquired staring bnkly at her."Sorry it's a native sng for white people," she said rubbing the back of her head. "Anyway your portrait looks good but needs some improvement. I tell you what I can give you some tips if you'll like.""Thanks that would be great. When do we start?""Tomorrow, I have the stuff to do today. You can hang out with me and my friends. Being the new kid can suck.""Thanks, I would like that," she said before walking back to her seat. Lunch and my st two csses flew by and so my first day at Crescent Valley High came to an end. Sophia and I met up at the far right of the school where some gazebos were built. There I met her best friends Chloe, Shayloh, and Joshua, and then the rest of the crew. Travis was a tall well built guy with curly blonde hair and brown eyes. Then there was Daniel an average-height, dark-skinned guy with an afro that clearly has a thing for Chloe with the way his dark eyes roamed her body. They moved and interacted with each other in the way a family would. We ughed and ran our jokes for a while until Shayloh turned to Sophia."So-So where is Kairi? It's not like her to stay away from you for so long.""I don't know I haven't seen her all day but she might be here soon, you know how she likes to make an entrance."We sat there talking about our summer vacation for about 20 minutes until an Asian girl with dark eyes, dark hair braided over her left shoulder with a slim figure came over with a smile on her face. She was dressed in tight leather pants, and leather boots with a long white shirt."WHAT'S UP PRETTY PEOPLE....!!!" She shouted with a bright smile and arms open wide."KAIRI, KAIRI, KAIRI," the group replied pumping their fist in the air. So this is Kairi. She was bubbly, and energetic, and from what I could see wild. A total contrast to her gothic, biker-girl style of dressing. I stood there watching as Kairi hugged all the girls and punched the guys before hugging Sophia from behind and whispering something in her ear which made Sophia blush. Soon it became clear that these two were more than just friends but I wasn't sure how deep it is."So... Michael, I would like you to meet Kairi Yang, my wonderful girlfriend," Sophia said with the brightest smile on her face. She was a lesbian. It was at that moment that any pns of trying to get with Sophia died. I could only make a small smirk and shook her hand. I gnced over at Joshua to see a smirk on his face while shaking his head followed by Shayloh and Travis. Ok, I take it they know what I was pnning. I walked over to them while they silently ughed. "You guys knew how I felt and said nothing," I said looking back at Sophia and Kairi."We suspected. No one who looks at Soph like that doesn't want to be just friends," said a smiling Shayloh."Hey guys I have to get going, Kairi and I have an appointment so we'll be seeing you," Sophia beamed at us then left.NO ONE'S POVAbout twenty minutes from the school Kairi and Sophia are at the tattoo parlor. An old small brick building that was renovated to have a more modern look with a graffiti sign that says tattoo. The girls walked inside ughing and chatting when a deep muscur voice came from a tall, well-built, dark-skinned guy standing around his cash register. "Baby Redway, Kairi what's going on?""Nothing much Robbie, Sophia here wants to get a tattoo," replied Kairi holding on to Sophia."I've already designed it," said Sophia before handing him a beautiful portrait of herself naked, with a group of red and blue roses. Small roses started from under her left breast curving to the side of her back slowly getting bigger and coming to her waist before connecting to a big red rose on the left butt cheek continuing, reducing in size before concluding behind her thigh. "So if Remi is here can she take care of it for me please?""Sorry chica but Remi isn't here. Today's her day off but if you'd like I could do it for you.""Robbie no offense but I would prefer Remi. It's not you can't do it but I prefer it to be a girl," Sophia then eyed Kairi who softly nodded looking into her eyes. Robbie stared at them realizing there was more to it than they were willing to share."Ok you can come back tomorrow when Remi is here, is that cool with you Sophia?""Yea thanks, man," replied Sophia before she and Kairi walked out. Robbie sat back in his chair and started drawing. The tone in Sophia's voice sounded like she was begging for Remi and the look she gave off was like being touched by him was the worse thing he could do to her. The look was soft and sad with a hint of fear. He continued drawing, it wasn't his business so he was not going to pry.
