Short story: three days

Drago Lionheart quietly stands on what was a battlefield several hours ago. His expression unchanging, his eyes always watching keenly to make sure non of the demons remained alive, however it was unlikely.

Demons fought until the bitter end, only retreating when the horrors from beyond directly order them to do so.

The few corpses of his friends were infinitely little when compared to the hundreds of thousands of dead demons who lost their lives during a fight they could not win, only killing between 5-10 of them. Drago did not yet know the exact number of casualties, this was simply an estimation.

His colleagues called him by many names when ever he stayed to watch the corpses. Most of Wich were either Devoted, fool and varieties of these words.

If there is even the slightest chance of an ally left for dead waking up and calling for help, or a demon regenerating and attacking humans, Drago would stay. As long as he felt was necessary.

Drago suddenly felt a presence from behind him. A presence Drago has not felt for years. Hundreds of years. A presence he has not felt since he was accepted into the wall of Terra.

Custodian. The defender of humanity. The grandmaster of the wall of Terra. The man the hero, the walking and talking legendary worrier that has assembled and commands the greatest army humanity has ever seen.

Drago didn't drop to the ground. He didn't even flinch or avert his gaze.

He needed to keep watch. To make sure no man will be left for dead. To make sure no demon will be left for dead. Both these for different reasons.

Custodian simply stood next to him. Not saying a word. The silence stretched on. For seconds. Then minutes. Then hours. Then days.

The members of the different orders simply let them be. Watching the battlefield together as time passed.

Custodian sat down next to Drago. There warn't a lot of men and women that were blessed with this kind of patience.

After three days, three days of watching over a battlefield, three days where every single movement could not escape his gaze, three days of standing in the same spot, nearly motion less, after three days of watching the corpses of 7 of their allies and brothers at arms according to the report they received from one brave member of the white order, decay next to the corpses of the hated number one enemies of humanity for countless centuries of bloody battles, Drago Lionheart, member of the brown order has finally left his spot and noticed custodian was gone.

Drago was a little disappointed, however keeping watch was more important than talking to the grandmaster. Drago was sure custodian would agree.

And as such, Drago returned to his chamber.

People walking around him, members of the white order restocking on medical herbs, members of the black order, cyan order and red order discussing strategies tactics and the freshest information the black order and blue order managed to gather and research about the demonic threat in strategy rooms.

As Drago reached his room however, he noted something strange. An iron square with a small crystal floating above it.

Drago touched the crystal, and a message played in custodian's voice:
