Chapter 3: The Imitators Trap

The morning sun bathed Shintenseiku Residential Area 3 in its gentle glow.

Ziekary had just awoken from a vivid nightmare that left her breathless. In

her dream, she witnessed Shintenseiku under attack by Lost Morphs, a

nightmarish scenario that shook her to the core.

Ziekary, showing a fearful face, stood in the middle of the city in her dream.

Other citizens were being devoured by Lost Morphs, and she was about to

  face a Lost Morph herself.

Ziekary's eyes opened wide, and she gasped, jolting upright in her bed. Her

heart raced as the remnants of the nightmare clung to her thoughts

Ziekary looked around her room, the reality of her safe surroundings

  washing away the fear.

gasp* "It was just a dream. I felt it like it was real."

She tried to shake off the lingering unease by focusing on her morning

routine. Ziekary cooked breakfast, managed her wardrobes, and pondered

  her plans for the day.

Ziekary wondering about her day. "I wonder what I should do today."

The absence of Kyrie weighed on her mind.

"It's been three days since I last saw Kyrie. Is he busy?"A sense of worry

began to gnaw at her, and she questioned herself.

"I'm really worried, but why am I so worried?" Ziekary's phone ringing as

  she answered it.

"Hello?" On the other end of the line, a familiar voice spoke.

"Hello, Ziekary, it's me, Charlotte." Ziekary was taken aback.

"Charlotte? Did you change your number?" Yeah, I lost my phone yesterday

  at home."

Ziekary expressed empathy."Oh, so sorry to hear that. It must have been

  exhausting."

"I know, right? Say, do you have plans today? Wanna go to the park with me

and talk about all sorts of stuff?"

Ziekary considered the offer."How about we go to the mall first, then go to

  the park?"

Fake Charlotte agreed with enthusiasm."Sounds like a great plan! Meet you

  at 10:30 am?"

Ziekary confirmed their rendezvous."Okay, then. See you!"

The call ended, leaving Ziekary with plans for the day."Well, at least I have

  plans with Charlotte."

Yet, as she glanced at her surroundings, a fleeting thought crossed her

mind."On second thought, I thought it was him who's calling."

The day had arrived, and Ziekary met Charlotte at the mall as planned. Their

outing was a whirlwind of activities and laughter.

Ziekary and Charlotte inside a flower shop.

They explored a flower shop, admiring the vibrant colors and fragrant

blooms. The two friends couldn't help but smile as they took in the beauty

  of the floral arrangements.

At the arcade, they played games and competed with each other, sharing

moments of joy and friendly rivalry. Their laughter echoed through the

  arcade, drawing smiles from onlookers.

Next, they indulged in sweet treats at a candy store. Their eyes sparkled as

they marveled at the wide array of candies and chocolates, relishing the

taste of nostalgia and sugary delight.

A shopping spree ensued as they explored a clothing shop. They tried on

various outfits, offering fashion advice and playful critiques to each other.

Their camaraderie only grew stronger with each new outfit.

Throughout their day of fun, laughter filled the air as they explored the mall

together, reveling in each other's company.

As the day reached its end, they found themselves at their favorite spot in

  the Fountain Park.

"We really had fun in there." Ziekary gave her thoughts of the day

"Yeah, I wish we had more money so we could play again on the

  PlayStation!" Charlotte responded

Ziekary agreed, and as they sat down, a moment of vulnerability opened."I

assume you want to talk about something?"

Ziekary nodded, her thoughts turning to Kyrie."Yes. Actually, I met a guy

  last week."

Charlotte's interest was piqued."Oh my, go ahead. Tell me all about him. I

thought you're not into men. He better be a bad boy giggles."

Ziekary began to share her story."Well, he does look like a bad boy, the way

he dresses and everything. He's kind of tall too."

Their conversation continued, and Ziekary's tale of her encounters with me

unfolded. The park, once a place of fun and laughter, became the backdrop

for the secrets that would shape their future.

The morning sun graced the city of Shintenseiku as I awoke in my hotel

room. The remnants of a late-night meal were strewn across the table, and I

lay nestled in bed, basking in the embrace of slumber.

I groaned as I heard a faint ringing, not accustomed to early wake-up calls.

"Early in the morning, really? Like I'd get in trouble."

Stretching, I savored the rare moments of morning laziness, an indulgence

that was slowly becoming a guilty pleasure.

"I've never been this joyful. I could get used to this laziness."The comm cube

  continued to ring persistently.

"Tsk..." With a sigh, I reached for my phone, swiping to answer the call. My

eyes blinked open, and I groggily glanced at the comm cube's display.

To my surprise, the call came from an unexpected source.

The voice of Serina, calling from W.E.S (World Execution Squad) HQ

who had orchestrated our unexpected meeting, greeted me on the other

  end with a warm smile.

And so, my day took an unexpected turn as I found myself on the precipice

of new revelations and perhaps even new challenges. The quiet confines of

my hotel room in Seiku Residential Area 4 were interrupted by the ringing

of my comm cube. With a hint of annoyance, I answered the call.

  "Hello?" I greeted the caller.

Serina's voice, filled with excitement, met me on the other end.

"Kyrie, hi! It's me, your future wife!" she exclaimed.

I couldn't help but emit a soft tsk as I questioned the timing of her

call."What makes you call at this hour?" I inquired, my annoyance evident.

Undeterred, Serina responded with enthusiasm."Don't give me that tone! I

heard from Rylee that you've been transported into another universe!"

"Well, yeah," I admitted, my curiosity piqued.

"I've been missing you like hell! We're on our way to get you, so relax till

then, okay?" Serina's voice was full of excitement.

"What? Who called in this mission? I told the W.E.S and Zemstan not to

come find me anymore," I protested.

Serina's tone grew more serious as she pressed her point."I guess the doc

never agreed. We really need you back, and who says you're going to stay

there that long? Not even the captain would agree," she explained.

I let out a weary sigh, contemplating the situation. "Sigh," I muttered.

Just as I was about to continue the conversation with Serina, I noticed

  another incoming call.

"Huh?" I mused, my curiosity aroused.

Serina, on the other end, wasn't pleased with the sudden interruption.

"Kyrie? Are you still there? Don't tell me you're ignoring me!"

"I'm sorry, I'm going to have to call you right back," I informed her, ending

the call with a touch of regret. Quickly, I answered the incoming call from an

  unfamiliar voice."..."

The voice on the other end seemed to stutter and struggle to

communicate."You still there?" I inquired, growing frustrated.

"Still stuttering," the caller responded. My patience wore thin, and I

  expressed my difficulty in understanding.

  "I can't understand a word you're saying," I admitted.

As the conversation continued, a shocking revelation in the form of an

unfamiliar voice left me in a state of profound disbelief.

The world I had found myself in was growing increasingly enigmatic and

  filled with unexpected twists.

Ziekary and the Charlotte walked along a side street in Seiku, the afternoon

  sun casting elongated shadows.

"Ugh," Charlotte sighed, her voice carrying a hint of fatigue. "The day is

  almost over."

"You're right,I agreed, but I admit that was really fun. Thanks again,

Charlotte." Ziekary couldn't help but smile, grateful for the enjoyable day

  they both had shared.”

As they ventured deeper into an alley, her tone grew unusual as she

inquired, "Say, what was the name of that guy again?"

"It's Kyrie," Ziekary responded, slightly puzzled. "I thought you'd never

  forget his name."

Charlotte began to cry, catching Ziekary off guard.

"Huh? Charlotte? Something wrong?" she asked with genuine concern.

Tears flowed from Charlotte’s eyes as she confessed, "Yes, it's just... I want a

new friend like him too. I want to be close to him, maybe even have a

romantic relationship with him, and seduce him."

Ziekary’s heart raced as she struggled to comprehend her bizarre words.

"What are you talking about? Okay, now you're scaring me,Charlotte."

Her smile took a sinister turn as she revealed her true intentions.

"And maybe, in the end," she taunted, "I'll eat him." Her elongated,

grotesque tongue hung out as she laughed evilly.A gasp escaped Ziekary’s

  lips, her fear undeniable.

"Wait, you're not Charlotte! Who are you?"

Her laughter continued, mocking Ziekary’s gullibility. "I can't believe you fell

for it! I didn't even had a hard time tricking you. You are so stupid."

Trembling, she had to know her intentions."What do you want from me?"

Her answer was chillingly straightforward."Isn't it obvious? I want Kyrie, of

  course."

Desperation took hold as she pleaded, "I don't know where he is. Can I go

now? Ziekary found myself entangled in a web of deception, facing an

  imposter with malevolent motives.

"No, silly!" the imposter laughed wickedly. "You think you can just do

whatever you want?~ Sadly, this is where you meet your end."

With those chilling words, she lunged at Ziekary, and she instinctively tried

to dodge, but it was too late.

Ziekary tumbled to the ground, pain coursing through her as she landed

awkwardly. Her body screamed in agony, and she felt tears welling up in her

  eyes.

"Aww, why didn't you run?" the imposter taunted, looming over her. "Are

you saying you want me to slowly kill you?"

Ziekary couldn't hold back the tears any longer. "Please, let me go. I've had

a lot of bad things happen to me, and now this."

The imposter's cold laugh pierced through her pleas. "Do you think I give a

damn about your life? You should be thankful that I'm about to end it. Bad

things keep happening to you, just like you said."

Summoning all the strength Ziekary could muster, she attempted to get up,

her body shaking from the pain and fear. She knew she had to run.

As she staggered to her feet and began to flee, the imposter's sinister

  laughter followed her.

  "Say your prayers!"

But her desperate escape was cut short. A searing pain exploded in her

shoulder, and she screamed as she fell to the ground once again.

The imposter loomed over Ziekary, Fake Charlotte’s malevolent grin never

  leaving her face.

  "Goodbye, my dear friend."

As darkness enveloped Ziekary, She couldn't help but wonder if this was

  truly the end.
