  Elaine frowns

  - Tell me, Elaine. says her father. Do you think that Arch Humans and Humans should be treated the same? Even though one of those can wield and use Arcana while the other can't?

  - THEY SHOULD! yells Elaine. Even if they aren't, how do you know that there are no Arch Humans on the first floor?

  Elaine's father sighs then get up and heads toward her

  - It's because when Arcana and Arch Humans first got discovered, we also found out that an Arch Human has almost no chance of having a child with a Human and even if they did 99% of the time, the child would be a Human. answers Elaine's father. To avoid the thinning of the Arch Humans, they sent every Human to the first floor.

  Elaine's eyes widen

  - As for the Arch Humans, the more Arcana they possessed the higher in the tower they were sent. finishes Elaine's father

  - Ar- Are you serious? asks Elaine who is in shock because of what she just learned

  Elaine's father goes back to his desk and sits down

  - The Leo Academy Arcane test. says Elaine. Please allow at least the children who come from the first floor to undertake that test

  " I see. So, that's what brought this on. She must have met some children from the first floor. Her compassion for others is a bit worrying."

  - Even after what you just heard? asks Elaine's father. Even though you know that there is no hope for them?

  - I'll... I'll be taking my leave. says Elaine while looking down

  {Elaine's father}

  " Children from the first floor..."

  Elaine turns around, opens the door, and leaves

  [A little bit earlier with Elaine before she left the kids to meet her Father]

  Elaine heads toward the Pillar but is stopped by a child who grabs her hand. She turns around to look at who that is and sees Eve

  - You are. says Elaine surprised

  Elaine lowers herself and smiles at Eve

  " Good. Looks like she was able to get a hold of herself."

  - Is there something you want to tell me? asks Elaine with a smile

  - How? asks Eve

  Elaine looks at Eve with confusion

  - How do I join the Lion Knights? asks Eve with conviction

  - Wait. says Elaine, surprised by the question she just got asked. Do you want to join the Lion Knights?

  Eve nods

  - Why? asks Elaine

  - So that they can train me. says Eve with anger. Train me to kill Monsters

  - No problem. replies Elaine while getting up

  Elaine leaves. After walking for a bit Eve stops and says

  - I forgot to ask her how to join the Academy.

  [Back to the present with the kids and Kenzo]

  Kenzo looks around

  - This place is filling up quickly. he says worriedly. I wonder how many more people we can bring up. Just how many people live on the first floor?

  - I don't know exactly how much but I believe it's between 100 000 000 to maybe 500 000 000. says Adam in a pensive manner

  - THAT MUCH!?!? yells Kenzo

  - Is that a lot? asks Seleph to Kenzo

  - That's about the same number of people that live on the five other floors. says Kenzo shocked. The floors of the Tower are humongous, but I never thought that it could hold that many people

  - That's because the first floor doesn't even have an eco-system. says Elaine who just came back. All the first floor has is a living area with buildings although most of them are destroyed and impossible to live in

  Kenzo turns and looks at Elaine

  - No way. says Kenzo with a smile. If something like that is true, then no one would live on the first floor. How would they even get food?

  - Food Drops. says Eve. One time each month we are given enough food to last the whole month

  - Enough? says Adam with anger. They give enough for people to survive and even if they do, those that are strong steal the food from those that are weak

  - WAIT! says Kenzo, shocked by what he just learned. So, is it true? The first floor is that bad of a place to live in.

  - Well, since we lived in the orphanage it wasn't that bad. says Seleph. We had our own Food Drop, but it often got stolen from us and we also got beat up a lot especially Adam since he kept trying to chase the robbers away

  - But everything changed when Father Langton came down to the orphanage a year ago. says Eve with a small smile

  {Elaine}

  " Father... Langton?"

  - But that Father Langton is now nowhere to be seen, isn't he? asks a man with orange hair and a multitude of scars on his face and body

  - Who are you? asks Kenzo with a frown when he sees the three kids frown at the man

  - What do you want, Scarface? asks Adam with a frown on his face and anger in his voice

  - I just came to see how you guys were holding up after seeing that old hag die. says Scarface with a smile

  Adam quickly gets up and tries to rush at Scarface but Kenzo grabs his arm. Adam looks at Kenzo

  - Let me go. says Adam with anger

  Kenzo shakes his head

  - Just what do you think you can do to me, huh? says Scarface with a smile

  - I would suggest that you return to your assigned place. says Elaine with a frown. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to bring you back myself

  Scarface raises his hands in the air

  - There's no need for that. he says with a smile and closed eyes. I only came here to check on the kids. It would be a problem for us if all of them ended up dying after all

  Inside Elaine's hand, a gold flame appears which then turns into a sword. A sword that she points at Scarface

  - I already told you to leave, didn't I? Elaine asks with anger

  Scarface looks at the kids

  - When we return, she won't be there to protect you guys from what I have planned. he says

  Scarface turns around and leaves

  - They won't be going back. says Elaine while lowering her sword

  Elaine's turns into a gold flame and disappears. Scarface turns around and looks at Elaine

  - What are you talking about, dear Knight? asks Scarface with a smile showing just how annoyed he is

  - These three. says Elaine with a smile. I am going to adopt these three.

  Seleph, Adam, Eve, Kenzo, and Scarface all look at Elaine with shock

  - E...Elaine. says Kenzo in disbelief. You're going to do what?

  Elaine heads next to the kids

  - I said I am adopting these three. she says with her hands on Eve and Seleph's head and Adam in the middle of the two

  Scarface walks away while laughing

  {Scarface}

  " From what I heard; she is a noble. A noble taking in orphans and the orphans are from the first floor? Nobles don't keep their word after all. Even if she wanted to adopt them, it wouldn't be possible because it would ruin her image."

  - He finally left. says Elaine after sighing. Who was that?

  - That was Scarface. answers Adam. He's the "King" of the first floor

  Kenzo grabs Elaine in a rush and creates some distance between them and the kids

  - Elaine. Whispers Kenzo. You can't just say that in front of them. I know that you were trying to defend and protect them, but you can't just give them false hope

  Elaine looks at the kids who are looking at her

  - I wasn't just saying it. says Elaine while smiling at the kids

  She looks at Kenzo in the eyes

  - I am going to adopt and take care of those three. says Elaine with conviction

  Kenzo sighs

  {Kenzo}

  " There's no point in trying to change her mind. Might as well support her."

  - What do you guys think? Kenzo asks the kids

  - Are you serious? asks Adam with doubt. Taking us in who lived on the first floor will not be well received by your family

  - How do you know that? asks Elaine with a smile

  - Adam used to live on the third floor before he came to the orphanage. says Seleph

  {Elaine}

  " The third floor, huh? That's the only floor where nobles and commoners meet. Although the nobles of that floor are low ranked, they are still nobles. Is he from a fallen noble family or is he from a normal family? It's probably a sensitive subject so I won't ask him for now."

  - I am not lying. says Elaine seriously. However, I will respect your wishes if you guys don't want to live with me then I won't force you.

  Elaine looks at the kids seriously and says

  -What do you three want to do?
