When they arrived at the palace Queen Laura instantly went to the head maid's office, while Raia went to the library when she arrived in front of the door she knocked and said, "Mara can I come in?" asked the queen, "Absolutely Your Majesty," she hastily replied, the queen entered and Mara bowed, she was an old and strict woman, "Mara I need your help," the queen said, "Yes your majesty, what you may need from me," replied the head maid, "I need a suggestion, I am searching for a maid to lend to Raia as her personal maid so that she could help her with her training and at the academy in the future, and I was thinking of lending her that young maid that's just arrived what do you think about it?" said the queen, "If you mean Selena your majesty I think that it would be a good idea, it would be a really good experience for her, being a personal maid will help her grow quicker, she also just came out of the academy with good theoretical grades, so she will be able to help Raia even if she does not truly understand what she is asked to read.
"The queen was relieved that the head maid thought about the same reasons that gave her the idea of asking for that particular maid, so she said, "Do you perhaps know where she might be at this particular moment, Mara?" the queen asked, Mara looked at the chores book, a book where is written the chore list of every maid for the day, and she replied "she should be with Tina in the throne room but I wouldn't recommend going there they should be returning in a bit we should wait for them," said Mara, and so she and the queen waited.
About five minutes after their conversation the door opened and Tina, a plain young woman who looked in her mid-twenties she had brown eyes and hair, entered while she was doing so she was giving some pointers to Selena, who was the youngest maid in the entire palace she was fresh out of school she was quite good academically but less magically still being from humble origins she was happy to have the opportunity to work at the palace she had red hair and green eyes.
"Selena you have to be less stiff when you are working ok, no one will come to bother you while you are cleaning ok?" asked Tina, "Yes Tina thanks for the help," said Selena while she entered herself, when she did she noticed someone on the sofa next to the head maid desk, and when she noticed who was on the sofa she instantly bowed and said, "Good morning your majesty" at that Tina snapped her head in the direction that Selena was looking to and had the same reaction.
"Don't worry both of you I came here to ask for help no need to be so polite," the queen said while getting up, "Selena we need to talk to you, Tina could you please wait outside," said Mara, scaring the poor girl that did a horrible job at hiding it earning herself a reassuring smile from both Mara and the queen.
After Tina exited Mara started saying, "We wanted to talk to you about your job Selena, " now she was starting to really get scared, she thought she had done something wrong and was going to get fired but what said the queen right after rose a lot of question marks in her head.
"Would you like to become someone's personal maid?" "I am not experienced enough to be offered this job, so why are you asking for me Your Majesty to become a personal maid? I would love to accept your offer, but I don't think I am good enough for the job, " Selena said, "Then accept it, you will hear the reasons once you do cause... this is kinda secretive if you didn't notice Selena, " said Mara.
"I wholeheartedly accept!" Selena said, accepting the offer "Good now for the details our queen will explain being that she is the one who asked for you, and because I also don't know them" Mara said.
"The reason I asked for you is my niece, she needs help, and she asked me to assign her a personal maid that in 5 years will also follow her at school. There are two reasons she asked now: the first one being that she wants to get to know her maid before the academy, but this doesn't explain why assign her one this early.
The second one is the real reason, she needs someone who will help her with her tarining, since she is blind she needs someone who can read for her but that could be done by the custodian when he is free, the problem resides in the tarining itself, she wants to find a way to learn magic even if she is blind, this will take a lot of time so the more she can use the better."
"Why me though?" asked Selena, "Because of your grades, and because of the fact that you just came out of school so more or less you remember what you just studied," added Mara, giving her a realistic reason as to why they selected her instead of someone else.
"Is there anything else that I should know of your majesty?" Selena asked, "One thing, do not tell her mother, or anyone else for that matter, this should stay a secret till you go to the academy with her, or for the maximum amount of time possible.
And please keep Raia from doing anything stupid, she has a habit of hyper-focusing on things and forgetting even to eat or to sleep, she has already done it believe me.
She should be in the library right now, thanks for accepting.”
And Selena responded with “I should be the one thanking your majesty for the opportunity.”
"After that the conversation ended and they all parted ways, everyone returning to their duties, the queen went to her husband to spend some quality time with him, and the head maid returned to her desk and continued preparing the next week's chores distribution, and Selena went to the library to encounter her new Miss.
When Raia arrived at the library she opened the door and headed for the librarian desk, when she arrived and knocked on it to see if Carius was working and didn't notice her arriving and she didn't get a response she called “Carius where are you?” “I am putting away some books. Can you wait a minute?” the librarian responded “Yes” Raia said, and so she waited.
When Carius arrived after a short while he said “Oh hy Raia how are you?” “I am extremely excited I just returned from the church where I received my blessing and I can't wait to start practicing.” "That is fantastic Raia what did you get?" "For that we will have to wait for one more person to show up so that we are all on the same page in the mean time we can prepare the material for the first session."
While they waited they started taking out tomes on everything that was related to basic magic and on Raia's request some tomes on vision enchanting magic.
The reason for those was lost on Carius but he didn't press if she wanted them for her lessons than he wouldn't complain.
Less than 10 minutes later the door of the library opened and a young maid entered and said “Good afternoon is miss Raia here?” asked Selena “Yes I am here. Are you the maid appointed to me” replied Raia “Yes, that would be me, Miss Raia."
At that response Raia scrunched her face and said “You don't need to be so formal with me, we can be friends, now please come here so that we can start my special training.”

“Oh my gods that is extremely good” exclaimed Selena, “This isn't extremely good it's perfect for her what are the chances of this happening? She can destroy all the spalls thrown at her and use spells that no one knows apart from her. ” continued Carius “Now I think I understand why you made me take out those books but I still don't know how you think you are going to be able to achieve that.”
“What you don't know is that my blessing, other than giving me the possibility of creating new spells, also gives me a major chance of discovering new runes while mixing existing ones and that is the real beauty of this blessing.
As for what I am gonna create and how that is a spell to see mana mixing [Mana sense] and a vision enchantment spell how and what vision enchanting that I don't know. Any ideas?”
“I got nothing I am not good with magic theory and even less in practice” said Carius.
“I may have something but it is too complicated for you at the moment so I think we should start by first doing basic stuff and then when you have at least learned mana sense yourself we can start mixing spells and creating something to let you see. Also have you ever thought of learning with your other senses?” said Selena receiving a questioning look from both Raia and Carius Co she continued “What I mean is, we all know that people that don't have 1 sense have the other four amplified to try to compensate for the absence of that sense, and we all know that at the academy you will not only train with magic but also a weapon of your choice, that include fists, so why not use become proficient in fighting while not being able to see and then add sight to become even stronger?”While she was saying that Carius and Raia's faces became increasingly more shocked at what she was implying.
“Do you think I can make it?” asked Raia “I don't think, I know you can and you will so let's do this why don't we go to the barracks and ask if they can help out with that” replied Selena and so they went to the barracks.
When they approached the entrance they were greeted by the guard “Good afternoon Mr Carius, Miss Raia and… sorry I don't think I know your name” the guard said with an apologetic look “My name is Selena and from today onwards I am Miss Raia's personal maid you can simply call me Selena” “Oh, good afternoon Selena what may I do for you all?” Raia interjected “I would like to see capitan Olaf if he is not busy”
“That certainly he is not after the ceremony this morning he has been bragging to every one of us that you have achieved the all time record of mana he is in his office right now talking with Grace who also has been bragging with him about you.”
“Thanks for the information I will go find him right now,” arrived at the office Raia barged in “Capitan Olaf I need your help” “Hi Raia what you may need, Grace can we finish talking another time?” “Yes capitan” and she exited the office.
“So how can I help you Raia?” Olaf asked “Selena, my new personal maid, has had a brilliant idea about how to conduct my training and I would really like to do as she suggested so can you hear her out and tell me what you think of it, but first I'll tell you what I had thought to do.” so Raia explained her idea and showed her blessing to the captain after her Selena explained what she had thought and at the end the captain had this to say.
“Ok both of you had good ideas and I would lean in to doing what your maid suggested but I would add something but this will have to wait till you become proficient in combat.
Now I'll decide a day to day training regime for you you will wake up at 5 am have physical training for two hours, breakfast for 15 minutes, combat training for 2 hours, you wash up and study magic till lunch at midday for 30 minutes you eat lunch then physical training again for another 2 hours combat training for another 2 hours and practice magic till dinner, after dinner free time.
This for the next three years after that you will become an adventurer and get some real life experience against monsters AND bandits.
I don't want to hear complaints. If you want to catch up and surpass peoples without disabilities you will have to try harder. Last thing before we go to your birthday party, what weapon would you like?”
Raia was a little taken aback by the eagerness of capitan Olaf but she understood his point and agreed with him so she responded “A katana, would that be possible” “Yes it is possible now wash up and dress nicely your birthday party will start in a bit.”
After Olaf said those words she headed out and went to her room where she prepared herself for the party.
About an hour later she was in the dining room with her mother aunt Laura uncle Klaus her cousins Marcus and Lilia and captain Olaf, after they had dinner and Raia showed everyone her status page Queen Laura stood up and announced "It's time for the gifts.
Me and my hausband will go first,after asking capitan Olaf for Raia's preference we decided on the form of her gift which is the same we gave our children once they were five and this mean that our gift is a Growth Artifat Katana happy birthday Raia" when she said that Raia's eyes went wide with shock she absolutely didn't expect that and when she heard dom footsteps coming from the kitchen with an object which she thougt was wrapped in a towel by the sound they made when they mooved she nearly lost it "I don't deserve this at all i am not your child those artifacts cost a fortune" "No you do Raia and that is the end of it take it and let it take your magic propriety so that we can see how it will turn out I have never seen an antimagic bonded Growth Artifact."
Raia took the artifact from the hands of the maid and sat down he put it ion her legs and took off the towel and she touched it she couldn't see it but it emitted a strong light and admist the light it changed shape from a basic katana the blade became silver with six black lines running accross the blade troward the guard that resembled a flower a strange six straight petal black flower the handle seem made of silver cloth, the scrabbard became more slim and had a flowery pattern on itself depicting the same flower that made the guard the rest of it was silver like the blade it was a mesmerizing sight to watch and sadly Raia couldn't do it when the process finished Queen Laura announced “Now please Raia put the blade in the scabbard and use this belt to attach it so we can continue.”
When she did as she was asked her Mom said “It may not be as precious as this sword but here is my present and she handed her a box which when opened contained a ring “Mom what is this it seems magical,” “Of course you would notice with that enormous amount of mana, it's a storage ring my dear I bought it when I was in the academy the adventuring we did paid well enough for it and it's a convenience that you will find hard to say no to once you tried it.”
“Thanks mom, it's fantastic.”
“And now it's our turn," said the twins. "We personally hunted this monster to make you an armor, it's hardened leather strong enough to not get punctured at low levels and flexible enough to not hinder movement.” “Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.”
“And now last but not least it's my turn and I have two gifts one that you will start receiving tomorrow and it's me personally training you and a material one witch are some adaptable weight for your training I also have other things prepared but I will give them to you once you achieve certain results in your training,” “Woah that first gift is probably worth a lot more than even her sword.” aunt Laura said, earning a confused look from Raia.
“Raia you don't know that but the captain of the royal guards is the strongest knight in the kingdom and he doesn't train the royal knight himself he only train one apprentice and apparently that apprentice is you now do you understand how much of an honor it is.”
Raia wore a look of disbelief on her face. She looked in the direction she thought the captain was and said “Is it true?” “Yes it is Raia you are now my sole apprentice and I couldn't ask for someone better.”
Now she cried thanking everyone for everything they were doing for her, and the night like this he's she calmed down she went to bed a tiring day awaited her.
