Chapter 55: A Struggle to Find Meaning…
(Faith’s POV)
Celia: “…”
Faith: “What’s wrong?” I asked with a concerned tone.
Celia: “I…I don’t know. Usually, I am always up for finding things that I can work on, females that I can save, and I know that I have to win this game. But… for some reason, right now, I feel completely listless.” She answered with an embarrassed tone.
Before she could speak any further, I had knocked her out with magic. Landing on the ground with Celia, I looked over her body as thoroughly as I could.
Faith: “…”
When Celia helped out that woman without getting involved in her life, I knew that something was wrong with her. But this is… this makes no sense at all!
Quickly stopping the broadcast, I struggled over what to do. The years that Maralia gave Celia have… been all used up. In fact, she only has minutes left to live. Why!?
Regardless of what happened, I gave her a two million years of life, as I didn’t fancy having my future wife die in my arms. Once I was certain that she wouldn’t expire anytime soon, I looked her over more.

Hours Later.
Maralia had arrived minutes later, probably also noticing Celia’s extreme decline in health. Two heads are better than one, of course, so I didn’t reject her being here with us. I also easily found out why this happened to her. Someone must out to get Celia…
Faith: “Who the fuck is brazen enough to attack Celia like this, all while powerful beings like us are in such close contact with her!?” I ask in anger.
Maralia: “…”
Faith: “Why are you being quiet? Surely, you have an idea…” I say, shaking her shoulders.
I was out of the game of life for far too long, things changed too much, I have barely had any information to go on. I was practically a blind fool when it came to this matter…
Was Vanessa really the strongest being in existence, or did another overtake her in power? When it came to such information… this woman, Maralia, should know it.
Maralia: “Faith… Celia is running out of time, you know this.” She replied.
Faith: “…”
Maralia: “Just as you said, there is no one that foolish alive these days. Rather than an attack, Celia’s soul just rejected the years that I gave her, nothing more.” She added with a sad tone.
So… my plan is really the only way to save her? Celia’s soul is rejecting all years given to it, as it yearns to be cleansed. Due to that, even if every one of her family members gives her years… said years will all just be rejected as well. A wasted effort…
Maralia: “Shall we become villains for our wife?” She proposed with tears in her eyes.
Faith: “…No, it isn’t time yet. My plan can only be carried out after the game is over, Maralia. And you need not stain your hands like this. Until then, I will just constantly give Celia more and more years.” I denied, also with tears falling down my face.
I actually ended up hugging Maralia, and we cried it out. At the moment, Celia was a deathbed patient, one that didn’t even realize that her end was so close. What could be more depressing than this situation?…
