Volume 6. Chapter 67: Called Up. (Chapter 568.)

  Chapter 67: Called Up.

  (Celia’s POV)

Like with Sven, the next woman was in a highrise building. This time, it wasn’t a building that was used for business. Instead, it was clearly used for luxury apartments.

Neriah owed the best hotel, but it really doesn’t compare to these apartments. Why was this world so odd? Rather than being in the apocalypse, if you only knew of this city, and not outside the walls, you’d think that this was some futuristic dimension.

Faith: “The moon and sun will run out of power soon enough. Rather than put up a real fight against the zombies, the sun seems to prefer making the remaining humans live a comfortable life until then.” Is what she answered when I asked this to her.

Celia: “Really? Does that mean that I don’t have to bother to save this dimension?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

Faith: “You won’t have to do so, no. It will all even out within the next hundred years. Perhaps the sun will give up its sentience to restore the world to its previous state. It’s hard to say for sure.” She proposed.

Celia: “Eh, maybe.” I reply with a shrug.

Heading inside of the building, I was surprisingly stopped dead in my tracks. Not because some strong person was preventing me from going any further, but some guards had appeared before me after I got through the entrance.

Manager: “This is a female only building, which, you are.” She said after going in front of the guards.

Celia: “That’s correct.” I say with my arms crossed.

Manager: “But… Prostitutes require a permission badge, which the woman who hires one can give out. Though our customers are high profile and wealthy, I don’t think that any one of them could afford a woman like you…” She said with a thinking pose.

Celia: “Well, no. I am not a prostitute.” I say with a giggle.

Manager: “Then why are you here? Perhaps to purchase an apartment?” She asked with a curious tone.

Celia: “No, I am just here to see someone.” I deny with a shake of my head.

Manager: “If you had a permission badge, then we wouldn’t have stopped you. As such, please leave, or contact the one you wish to see.” She said with a stern tone.

Hm… this place is pretty high security. I shudder at the thought of how much even the cheapest apartment here costs… If she won’t let me in… what should I do?

Ardina: “Let her upstair to my room.” Her voice came from a sci-fi phone thingy on the manager’s chest.

Manager: “Yes Ma’am!” She quickly replied.

Celia: “It was that easy?” I ask in confusion.

Manager: “Ardina is the owner of this building… Please do not upset her. That woman is extremely rich, and she is also a very powerful evolved human.” She replied with a nervous tone.

  Celia: “…”

Manager: “As this is her building, you should be able to guess what her preference is… Good luck!” She said as she shoved me into an elevator.

  Celia: “( o_o)”
