Chapter 216 — There Are Things To Do

  There Are Things To Do

“Fox, you are able to stand already, and walk. You might even get to 'exercise'…” The doctor scratched his temple, making a grimace. Fox didn't react. The doctor continued, “That is a substantial improvement from 2 nights ago. However, your progress and the strengthening of this evolution… have you wondered if there is a counterproductive effect?”

“…” Fox knitted his eyebrows, wrinkling his forehead. Doctor Valle parted his lips to suck some air, “I believe your body has deteriorated. A lot. But also, your body, specifically your left arm, is keeping it at bay even more.”

“There are… intricacies,” doctor Valle frowned. After giving the ceiling some attention, he returned his eyes to Fox’s face. “I’d say your ultra Mintip limb enhanced your survival. Not only of age, but you may even regenerate from a flesh gunshot quickly. 10 to 15 minutes, is my hypothesis. I confirmed this after seeing the results of your healing since you called me.”

“It must have been a progressive process, which halted increasing several hours ago, before I concluded the first part of my investigations.” The doctor commented, “My second part, all those analyses… these tests confirmed my other research, and complemented previous ones, Fox.”

“…” Fox looked at the doctor with the same impassive face, but he was calm now, mostly self-aware. Valle concluded, “Your body’s deterioration and the injuries from before have drained your lifespan even more. With this new enhanced evolution… you were only taken about 5 years of your life, Fox. If this continues, you may not even make it to 50.”

“I understand,” Fox calmly uttered. Nala had a serious expression, while Esmeralda was pensive. Fox then asked what he ought to have wanted to ask since some time ago, “Would more ultra processed Mintip increase my lifespan? Bring me to a normal one?”

“I cannot base my answer on that alone, but it might be possible. However, nobody makes processed Mintip guts for a reason. Internal bions made of at least 30% Mintip disbalance one’s body, and the nearer to the skull, the easier it is for anyone to be poisoned.” Valle muttered.

“You— able to have an entire arm constructed and rejuvenated with ultra Mintip is impossible as it is. Your evolution is the reason you act so well with it. Only those heavily well-trained or compatible, which is even rarer, use 100% Mintip bions, no processed ones. Never.”

“The amount of blood you lost is nothing much, considering you’re able to produce a lot, but your left arm is not a second heart. It’s like a bion, but it’s organic. I’m sure I can make an improvement to it… with Miros’s help, I might just have the way to truly help it become organic.”

“Before I leave?” Fox asked, giving his left shoulder a look before doing so. Valle nodded, his lower lip out. “Yes, and as I was saying. It might not have meant a lot, but the damage from the lack of blood in your body damaged your internal structure to irreparable means.”

“So… more ultra processed Mintip is the answer? No matter the situation?” Fox asked, giving his left upper arm a light graze. Valle nodded, slowly blinking his eyes, “You’re allergic to medicine since long ago, although your latest results show you don’t react to them anymore.”

“They still go down where they shouldn’t, and mostly help you… If you ever lack water influx, just drink pills, basically.” Valle paused before shrugging, making Fox and his women blink profusely. The doctor added, “But your body is too much for any medicine. Only yellow can help, with the red colored medicine having lost most of its effect. The silver medicine is the only one.”

“Because it’s made from my blood,” Fox stated. Valle nodded for the umpteenth time, “Yes, and don’t worry about ‘doping’ silver medicine. I’m already near a research to produce them without your blood or DNA, and your new blood is too much. If I don’t dilute it many times, it’ll only serve as a weird, niche, gooey-tasting tonic for upset stomachs.”

“Hm,” Fox expressed. Valle grimaced a grin, feeling that a young man might not even get to ‘that’ middle age as most people do. More so considering Fox’s survival capabilities, and in such a job.

“Oh, right,” Valle nodded and prepared to go out, when he stopped to point at Fox. “I didn’t hear about it until now, before I went into the presidential precinct. Congratulations on forming your Snowfall Enterprise. It’s a work well done, Fox.”

“Oh, that… thanks.” Fox blinked, weakly shrugged, and lowered his gaze. “It was Victor’s attempt of a gift, just as the party commenced. But it more or less blew off, as you can tell…”

“Mmm,” Valle nodded upwards before turning around, finally exiting the hospital room. The other nurses and doctors left as well, tired and too overwhelmed to process anything. They read the reports themselves. Nothing to worry, as they’d ‘sold their souls’ to the government to work here.

Thud, thud. Nala and Esmeralda went to him. Nala sat her incredible bum on his left, with Esmeralda practically shooting to him. It hurt a little, his body still recuperating from the trauma, but it was practically nothing. Esmeralda hugged him, not letting go of her lock around his neck.

“Mmn,” Fox exclaimed. They were left alone, and as soon as his time with the doctor was over, he was to be pampered. Could he be any more spoiled?

Looking at the sides, Fox smiled, giving the gray, light blue eyes and profound black eyes a soothing sight. Seeing him unconscious, making countless ‘pu’, ‘pu’, ‘pu’ sounds with his lips while they dragged him here had been heartaching.

“You’re fine for now,” Nala said, placing her hand on his thigh. Esmeralda echoed with her lips moving on his neck, “It’s not fair… You know, ultra processed Mintip isn’t something one can do from one month to another.”

“Mnn.” Fox exclaimed, calm and at ease. Esmeralda separated her face, which was glued so far to his neck, and looked at him with a serious expression. “Every country has to spend a lot of time to have… oh…”

Esmeralda suddenly looked down, lost in thought. Fox looked at her and bumped his forehead onto her head, prompting her. Esmeralda lifted her little head and gazed at him, her eyelids forming a curvy smile, “Well… what your arm has is what is known as one ultra fox.”

Fox blinked. Nala looked up at the ceiling with a snap, realization struck on her face. Esmeralda giggled, “The lot a country can gather, a rather well-off one, is about a fox’s bone structure every 20 years, even Lymoca, although not ‘nowadays’ for us.”

“And your father faced such crazy opposition because that 20th year would be in 1,024, a little after his second term began.” Nala commented. Fox narrowed his eyes, looking down at the floor before facing ahead.

“Right, but the only ones crazy enough to sell us or trade us at least 1 ultra fox would be ANS.” Esmeralda swung her feet, also looking at the ceiling, appearing more like Nala. “And I don’t think we are in any position to ask for even a chat between hoogs.”

“So, you’re saying I should steal them from ANS?” Fox swung his feet, too. Nala looked at them and smirked, opting for swinging her feet a little later. Esmeralda only turned her head to Fox, slow and commentless, grinning the hell out of her eyes and mouth.

“What of Carlos? And Andrea? How is their reconstruction going after the war, and before.” Fox asked, rubbing his sideburns with Esmeralda’s, who closed her eyes and enjoyed the little gesture. That was before Nala grabbed his jaw and pulled him to her, rubbing her nose on his cheek and ear.

“Here,” Esmeralda gave him a WID. It was pink and feminine, a bit too much. Fox looked down at it before opening it and stared at Esmeralda. “Why is it so much like this?”

“Well, I was given the choice, and a few select can also use it. You should configure yours too, Foxy.” Esmeralda didn’t blush when speaking, looking at Fox like one would to a dumbass. Fox tilted his head, with Nala smooching below his earlobe, “Who is it going to be for?”

“It is going to be for… for our first daughter.” Esmeralda paused for a moment, almost panic-stricken, as if she had forgotten something of utmost importance. She revealed an easing smile right after. Not to Fox, but out of getting something right.

“Hmm,” Fox didn’t bother, opening her WID to check the information directly sent from Terka and Andrea’s Pearl Eyes, the organization of her dreams she is still amidst constructing.

In the WID, Fox saw information from public notes from media to classified data Andrea, her people, and the PSD there sent him. Fox went through it, blowing a bit of air through his nostrils when finding a peculiar photo.

It was a public note of Carlos Medena, bruised, with bandages, and some bleeding from superficial cuts. The title was simple: ‘60,000 criminals become restorers of houses, restaurants, hospitals, kindergartens; you name it’.

Carlos stood beside Andrea, who was like a thin piece of purity in a universe filled with dirt and corruption. The workers behind her ignored the cameras and them, focusing on their one sole activity every day. Carlos seemed to be working, too, but was taken to the photo shoot, possibly dragged by Andrea.

‘She does have that charm in her.’ Fox thought, looking at the way 3 of Andrea’s fingers were just letting go of Carlos’s forearm, and how sweaty and tired he looked.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Did it say how many times he was beaten? Someone just wanted to show their heart of regret by convincing the others to be good and sit when told, huh?” Fox asked, quick and in a cool fashion, after having read enough. The note also said not a single individual attempted to escape.

Esmeralda put on an innocent expression, “Hmm, let me remember~. I swear there were 17 articles. Each explaining an original case where poor ‘Rafas’ fell~ from the construction sites. That’s what you were referring to, right?”

“Hmm~.” Fox exclaimed, smirking hard from the left corner of his mouth. “Looks like he really cannot help but want to conquer, hmm?”

“Conquer what? Is he going to rebel and take Terka for himself? That do be a plot twist,” Esmeralda looked at hm, playfully bumping her arm into his. Her eyebrows jumped a bit in the same manner. Fox looked at her with side eyes, squinted and ‘bothered’.

Esmeralda kept looking at him with upturned eyes, pouting hard with her lower lip excessively protruded outwards. Looking at her teary eyes, Fox silently scoffed before going, “You’re not dense for any love matters, Roroa. If you keep the act, I’ll have to slap you.”

“Uuu~h? Where?” Esmeralda asked, excited. Fox looked down at her. “Everywhere.”

She bit her lower lip, and her cheeks showed she was licking it with taste. Her eyes locked onto his, not much love language than this existed.

“By the way,” Esmeralda grinned after Fox rolled his eyes, shaking his head before looking at the feminine pink WID again. She saw his restraint and narrowed her eyes. No one could beat big ol’ Esmeralda in such a mind game. Esmeralda peeked from Fox’s front and looked at Nala.

“?” Nala tilted her head and stared back, peeking her head outwards. Esmeralda went, “When I spoke about ‘our’ first children, you didn’t feel left out because of my words?”

“No, you spoke of your first daughter with him.” Nala corrected, making Esmeralda blink, unable to comment. Nala continued, “And no. I don’t feel left out.”

“You don’t care about the order? Having at least 1 first-something from him?” Esmeralda said, gaining Nala’s look and Fox’s side glance for a moment. Nala blinked and responded at the same time, “I don’t care what order of children he has. I’m not interested in having any.”

“If I do, however, have any. That’ll be our children, which would matter to me. For the others you make with him, they will also be my children, so I further do not care.” Nala added, making Esmeralda grin, but the latter’s face quickly became lost, before turning besotted.

Nala finished her words with a blink and lifting her index finger. When she didn’t get a reply, she looked at Fox, whose gaze was vacant, making Nala feel pleased with herself. Then, looking at Esmeralda, she saw the enchantress’s dazed face and didn’t know how to react.

“If I had a meat stick, I would really like to poke your belly button.” Said Esmeralda, almost in a trance. Fox cracked up, with Nala arching her left eyebrow up and wide. Their reaction startled Esmeralda, but she giggled soon after, lowering her rump from the edge of the stretcher.

Slowly walking to Nala, she bent over a little, with Nala looking down, doing nothing to stop her, just beside Fox. He ‘focused’ on the WID information as Esmeralda lifted Nala’s shirt, and Nala still did nothing to stop her.

Esmeralda revealed that belly button below the clothes and did the same to the inner uniform. Nala gulped, letting her belly move a bit before Esmeralda dropped her lips onto her belly button, smooching it and even giving it a tiny, sweet lick upwards.

“Well, it certainly reacts. It would’ve worked, no?” Said Esmeralda, smooching around Nala’s belly button before looking up. Nala’s breathing became haggard, before she brought her hands to the sides of Esmeralda’s face. Esmeralda gladly went up. Soon, kissing sounds went off.

Fox lifted his left eyebrow, dancing it before feeling 2 different hands grab his long-sleeved shirt by the shoulder and neck, dragging him towards them. They weren’t taking a no.

“It’s my first time in a hospital… well, in Preut’s Battle for the Centralized Parliament, the camp- mmnnn…” Fox was taken away from duty. It was time to work.

  ***

Lymoca, late evening. Congress, the primary high chamber in the capital city.

It’s been a long day. The senate has only spent a few hours, and they had already gone all out. The live feed showed their tremendous struggles, involving many yelling and countless recounts of what was right and how evil NF and the neutral parties have always been, finally exposed.

But before them was the Chamber of Deputies, where they spent several hours opening their mouths, debating, making scenes in the stands, and calling out each other. It wasn’t fair… to the opposition. They always said things with conviction, if it could be called that.

They presented graphics, scales, ‘public’ information, and countless sayings of witnesses and truths that cannot be denied, confirmed by just asking around the country. Of course, those questions were directed to wrongdoings, seeded deep into Lymoca for over a hundred years.

The information, scales, graphics, and images were all from who knows where and what for. They showed numbers, and words depicting what those numbers were, but then NF and the neutrals would take out exquisite, proven information and turn everything, anything they were thrown. This persisted until the senate, where it became more personal.

There were fewer senates than deputies, so things would become hotter, even thought it was heated enough in the Chamber of Deputies until the voting finally began, having spent almost 10 hours debating.

It’s been only a few hours since it premiered in the senate chamber, but their footage had already reached the 10th million views mark, and this was just the live stream. Who knew how large it would grow after it was uploaded. Luis’s declarations were the epicenter of this; of everything.

Currently, the senators have finished exercising debating and personal replies before discussing the proposals, trying to at least change the initiative that had already started, and Lys started to react to. They didn’t need the government to feel. Furthermore, they now knew they were Lymoca, not the government, not a chamber, or 2, or all in the capital, but them; the people; Lys!

“Senator Loma Jenta, you have 15 minutes to discuss your proposal.” Senate president Omar Preon nodded and gave green light to a woman after hearing her. A beautiful white woman with bright chestnut hair, down to her ribs, with similar colored eyes walked from her seat.

Although she looked just great, from up-close, even with a camera, she looked… unattended demented, even though she wore a decent, costly, feminine suit. She walked to the stand and stood before the crystal glass, taking some time to look at everyone, and smile, of course.

She smiled specifically at the NF and neutrals, not moving her face from them, with glints of superiority and overcoming the difficulties to save… the nation.

“In this little speech I prepared, which took me less than an hour, because it is that easy to demonstrate the mess you will make, Nfs and neutral, aka traitors to the Lys who trust only in the good government…” Loma Jenta went on to rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, and rant. She more so mouthed, filing her cheeks by humiliating President Luis Heartez and Sebastián Lara. “I will tell you this, you knaves— you knaaaaave! You will destroy this country, and I will laugh at your mistake with my arms open and my laughter sounding throughout Lymoca! Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha!”

She walked off the stage on time, something that helped Omar not facepalm then and there. Then, reading the list, he looked at the crowd and heard another woman before nodding. “Senator Tania Díaz, you have 15 minutes to present your proposal to the senate.”

“Thank you.” A white, tall woman spoke to her seat’s microphone before walking down the long stairs to the stands. She had black hair and eyes.

When Loma Jenta walked to her seat, she had a big smile, but the NF and neutrals were anything but scared. They looked at the woman who has become more and more a show, which has been more and more used by Galan Piador than ever, maybe thinking he had an angle with her charm. But even the international internet communities were aware of her ‘antics’…

“President Luis Heartez! It’s been more than 12 years! You haven’t done anything for the Ly people, and to improve our government…!” Tania Díaz stood before the podium and began. As usual, she yelled and raised her voice, even making the high-end microphone crackle. “… For all this… I demand an answer! What are you going to do to Lymoca, if not drag us to a well-deserved annihilation!? Thank you, es cuanto, your presidency.”

“Mn,” Omar Preon exclaimed, looking down with vacant eyes. But it was only half the proposals allowed and admitted to the presidency. He looked at yet another woman, this time from LV. “You may begin your proposal presentation, senator Antonia Carla.”

“Many thanks, your presidency, hahahaha…” Antonia turned her eyes into slits and walked to the podium. She spent some time accommodating her notes and books before sliding the microphone a few times. Antonia Carla was brown, with fake, ugly brown hair and weird eyes, and short.

“Ah- ahe- ahem. When I looked into the initiative of the president, I realized nobody was asking why there were so many soldiers in our side. Why!? I mean, really, why!? Since when? This has happened already, what if it happens again? Have our dear boys not been disappearing lately?”

Antonia Carla wasn’t stopping, she was completely off the trails, but the smoke was only increasing.

“… If we don’t want our young to fall into his hands, hating all of us Lys, we will fall to the depravity of an ambitious man, as it was with our last disgusting emperor. I- ah… thank you very much, haha…”

When Antonia was finishing the last seconds of her 15 minutes, saying those words about the last emperor of the Lylaco Empire, she received negative feedback. It wasn’t difficult to garner information from the last 850 years from the AO, let alone from the 5th century of the SO.

The last Lylaco Emperor wasn’t an evil man that wanted to put half Lys through fire. If anything, he had too big a harem, but he was the last who protected the Lylaco Empire, even threatening the integrity of the Leafless Tree Coalition back then, simply by progressing.

Even after the fall, the last Lylaco Emperor continued being in charge as the process for turning into an independent nation was undergoing, with its congress formed and the imperial council disbanded. Although the latter was mostly changed of name and lowered in power, not distanced from the people that had council seats before.

The emperor guided the Lys to further defend the south, be it the Coalition or the opportunistic folk from overseas. He died of old, and even the 3rd president at the time honored his death, it was only a few decades that, despite Lymoca’s vehement support to new southern countries, it started to incline its head to ANS.

In short, there was nothing to badmouth the last emperor for, nor with. This gained Antonia many frowns, including from not only her political party coalition, but even from Mu?oz Estandarte and Galan Piador. NF and the neutrals gave her disapproving stares, with many grunting in dissatisfaction.

“May the last person with a proposal, senator Ol’ Pak. Step forward and present it. You have 15 minutes.” Omar said in a not so much energetic voice. A brown, tall and fat woman stood up. She had nice black hair and eyes. Before walking to the podium, she asked with an insistent tone and countenance.

“May I have 15 minutes extra?”
