Bobby gestured along the row, selecting seven of his skeletons to come with him. It was quite a large number of individuals for a toilet trip, but he hoped no one would be bothered that much by the number, higher ranking members of gangs seemed to be almost always accompanied by a fair few underlings.
Waving goodbye to Michaela, he slowly rose in a quiet, but not that suspicious manner and he and the skeletons walked away from their seats. Bobby remembered all the videos of people sneaking into establishments with ladders and luminous jackets, that would have been a hilarious thing to bring.
The key to the situation besides looking the part in those videos was the confidence. No one ever stopped a person who looked like they should be there, but if you were constantly looking around with a nervous expression on your face of course you would be.
Bobby straightened his posture and took a breath in, leading his minions onwards. As he slowly glanced around he noticed the bar man was staring at them, so he smiled beneath his mask and gave the man a wave. The burly guy snorted and turned his back, going back to cleaning the glasses people had left on his counter.
Bobby entered the stairwell and descended, going down the one floor. The door to the stairs opened out into a long empty hallway, he was meant to meet Sammy somewhere around here, the man had only dropped in on them briefly to pass over the tickets before. He looked around, but couldn’t see him, so after deciding not to loiter he pushed forward down the hallway. Sammy can convene with Michaela or James’ groups.
As Bobby looked up and down the hallway, he noticed it was very busy towards the arena, muscled men with weapons constantly rushing around shouting and escorting a few people who looked like they were struggling to control themselves. But it showed a great contrast to the hallway leading away, where he couldn’t see a single person in sight.
He walked for a short while, time stretching on. Eventually some other people entered the hallway from a hidden door, which was disguised and flush with the wall when closed. They all were well armed, it was not hard to guess they were a patrol group. The leader motioned for Bobby to stop and then spoke. “Where are you going?”
“We’re going to the toilet, these are other people from my room who wanted to come with me.”
“Don’t the viewing rooms all have their own toilets?” The man frowned gruffly.
“Errr, yes, but someone has stunk ours out,” Bobby said, realising how flimsy an excuse it was.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
“Haaaa, of course they have, make sure you finish quickly in the one by the entrance, it’s one of the toilets we use and someone will put a bullet in your head if you block it.”
“Thanks,” said Bobby politely, leading his small group onwards. The hallway bended and the bathroom sign became visible, gently glowing above a doorway. The entrance was just around the next corner, so Bobby was careful to not make any noise as they entered and he softly closed the bathroom door behind them.
The bathroom was tiled greenly, with patterns that may have once resembled a playing field, if they weren’t so chipped and faded. Deciding he needed to hide in case the next people to walk in weren’t Michaela’s group, Bobby pushed all of the skeletons into the end cubicle with him, then put down the toilet seat so he could stand on it and just about see over the partitioning walls to the door.
The long gas light outside the last cubicle had gone dark and no one had thought to replace it, so from his viewpoint he could see anyone coming in, but they couldn't quite see him. Now it was time to wait.
Bobby probably only waited like five minutes, but it felt like forever, and he was so relieved when Michaela pushed open the door. He opened the door and gestured for his skeletons to remain, going out to meet her.
“That’s two thirds of us, I hope James’ group doesn’t encounter any trouble,” she said.
“Yeah me too, let's start retrieving our weapons anyway,” Bobby replied.
He went up to the first of the skeletons accompanying Michaela, the one with the cowboy hat whom the guard had thought he recognised earlier. Slowly he began unbuttoning the skeleton's shirt. When he’d opened three buttons, he reached into its ribcage and brought out a pair of guns and an alloy blade.
After they found out the Kamden Crew didn’t use a metal detector on their entrances, Lucinda had the brilliant idea of hiding all their weapons inside the disguised skeletons. It was a stroke of genius and he was very glad she had thought of it because how to smuggle the weapons had been a bit of an enigma to him up until that point.
Bobby clipped one of the guns to his belt and handed the other to the skeleton, making sure the safety was on for both guns. It wasn't that Bobby thought the skeletons were unsafe, Gary had trained the skeletons extensively in firearm safety, and all the guns were silenced; it was just a single gunshot in the wrong direction could warn their hosts that something was about to happen.
He and Michaela moved their way through all the skeletons, retrieving the weaponry from within and all the other equipment they had brought. Just as they finished the first fourteen James finally arrived with the last six and they continued. The only person they were missing was Sammy. Bobby didn’t like that absence, while he had memorised the route to the bosses VIP box, he wasn’t entirely confident in his ability to get there quietly, he hoped the man was just being held up wherever he was and not that he had been discovered as a traitor.
Either way they would have to start the plan without him, and they were ready so there was no point waiting for someone that might not come.
