Episode 31: The School Idol Arc - The Sneaky Thief

Volume 1 Chapter 31: The Schoolgirl Thief Enters the Room

When the vast dining hall was left with only me, the emotions that were hidden before occupied my mind again, full of sorrow. I couldn't help but think about what Xiang Lingyu was doing at this moment, would our separation make him care?

I don't know what to do, I vowed to forget him and start anew, but I'm afraid of running into him at school tomorrow. I still can't figure out who that girl is who kissed Lanzhi in the orchard, will he date her after breaking up with me? Will Lanzhi smile at her like that too?

Until I tasted the salty taste at the corner of my mouth, I found that I had unknowingly shed tears. I'm not a crybaby, and I don't want to cry for a boy, so I wiped away the tears on my cheek with my sleeve and rubbed my eyes hard.

"Are you going to wait until all the dishes are cold before finishing the rice in your bowl?" It wasn't until Palace Late spoke up that I realized I had been standing there stupidly holding my bowl for over ten minutes.

"Don't eat yet, let them reheat the dishes." The chopsticks with food were about to reach his mouth when they were suddenly snatched away by Chi Gong Lie.

"Give me back my chopsticks, I'm almost done eating." I glared at him, what a super self-centered master.

"Your eyes are red like a rabbit's, what have you been up to?"

"Where is..." I didn't expect Chi Gong Lie to notice my eyes, afraid of being seen that I had just cried, I raised my hand very naturally and rubbed my eyes.

"You still went and touched it, you idiot."

"Ow, that hurts!" That despicable Chi Gong Lie actually used the chopsticks he snatched from me to knock away my hand that was rubbing my eyes. He doesn't understand what it means to be gentle at all! Does he usually treat his girlfriend Han Yoon-ah this roughly too? He must be taking advantage of Aunt Yuan not being around to bully me on purpose.

"You play your game well, why come disturb me while I'm eating? I want to enjoy a world of one person."

"Here you go." Suddenly a card flew over and landed in front of me.

"It fell out of the pocket of that jacket." I picked it up and took a look, it was a VIP card for an internet cafe. Looks like another kid who's addicted to the net, sigh... But what about his jacket? I couldn't just return the card to him without getting beaten up, could I? As I turned my head to gaze out at the snowflakes drifting outside the window, I sneered to myself, since doing it openly wouldn't work, let's try something more covert.

Into the night. I opened the door to my bedroom and tiptoed into the room next door. I pressed my right ear against the door panel to listen for any movement inside. No sound? Not in the study or the bedroom, then he must still be in the projection room on the top floor watching a movie. Great, heaven is helping me!

The door handle turned lightly, unlocked, I sneaked in quietly, felt a switch on the wall in the darkness, and a beam of pale blue light was projected onto the floor-to-ceiling window.

This is my first time in Chì Gōng Liè's room, I didn't expect that inside it would be a separate world, just like a prince's palace. It seems he really likes racing, with an entire wall-sized glass display case filled with all sorts of model cars of different ages and styles.

Sticking to the window frame in amazement, almost forgetting what was important, oh right, need to find my coat first.

  Where should I put it?

I searched around, but couldn't find any sign of it. The light must have been too dim, so I randomly flipped another switch on the wall, and this time a faint blue glow appeared. My eyes were immediately drawn to the coat lying quietly on the floor, and I smiled happily as I quickly picked it up, neglecting the boy sleeping in bed.
