Sail shot back out of the bedroom and back into the hallway. His mind was filled with the elation of finally reaching a victory in his life but he had not one second to sit in his achievement
In such a world built on skills like these, time was the most valuable resource possible and action was forced out of you. The various doors dipped in the white glow, which for now Sail would for call a soul. They were scattered about all down the hallway as he ran past.
The doors were all wide open and inviting like portals to other dimensions. Sail briefly saw into a bathroom, an art gallery and a ballroom filled with hung corpses among others..

[Wretched vision[B] : 00:04:11]
[Dash[C] : 00:00:13]
The timers in his mind counted down rapidly. Sail looked at such a thing as the wretched vision timer as if it were a countdown for his death. It was certainly an anxiety inducing system...
A 5 hour cooldown may not necessarily be the end but considering the situation so far, he had no faith in saving Shilling in those 5 hours. To be honest he wasn't even that sure about being able to save Shilling at all.
He had last left him with a shattered lung and arm. Without Shilling, he may still have been left to get beaten to a pulp forever. Perhaps he would have been beaten upon by the sucker punch until he starved... Could he even starve while using ever noir?
"ooonnnnnggggggg" faded in the distance.
Sails ears and body jolted a bit but he smiled slightly at the noise.
He ran about frantically with the dash skill.
While running up the set of stairs he came from, there was no longer any white thread to follow. But Sail's recent vision made every new thing he saw quite memorable. Thus, he managed to retrace his steps with no issue.
His eyes were now scanning about, desperate for more threads to the hearts of ghouls. Even if he couldn't reach it, he needed to at least see a direction or get more insight in these next 4 minutes. The more he managed to actually see with wretched vision the more he was desperate to not see it leave.
He took a sharp turn and ran through the bedroom door looking straight at the glowing door he used to get here. There was longer any kitchen on the other side...
'Damn it'...
He was quite itchy with his slight remaining time of dash left so he just ran straight through the glowing door and into a sort of lounge like area regardless.
Listening and focusing all his attention on his ears, Sail clocked a slight drop of laughter in the distance and his body jolted in such a direction.
He sped through glowing door after glowing door with no hesitation.
As he passed one doorframe the laughing warped and shifted behind him to his left. He pivoted on his heel and shot backwards straight towards the noise and through the next door.
"OOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG"
Sail dashed straight into a now giant wooden floor packed with large paintings that towered over him. Hearing the shrieking bell he swiftly turned to obsidian and back, reacting immediately and breifly keeping his momentum via sliding. Along with audio perception, reacting in this way seemed to work just fine. The ringing's origin came out of a glowing door straight ahead on the far end of the room beneath an enormous portrait of a woman with a long gothic dress.
As sail sprinted forth he felt the sensation of dash leave him and had to now keep running the proper way. The clear shift felt like he was suddenly having to run through water.
In the door beneath the portrait, Sail gradually came to see a rusted spring filling the room on the other side. It was sat there like a sleeping dragon.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"HERE. IM HERE"
Sail screamed out and watched as the spring began shaking and coming to life as it pushed itself of the floor and begun floating. It was then that a white figure hobbled its way through the door.
"GASTINN! ..GASTIN YOUR HERE.. AH THANK GOD! YOU DIDNT ABANDON ME"
"No no, I just saw something. I had to go for it. I exorcised the red ve..."
"AAAAAA HA HAHA H A HA HA HAHAH A HH H A H AH AAAH A H//~~#~~~~#"
A laugh that was certainly more riddled with a form of energy akin to anger this time screamed out from the room.
The gentle backing track that sat in the air also got louder and faster. Such a theme tune always accompanied the sucker punch and it seemed to be not happy about a certain instrument interfering every 10 seconds.
The two men ran past each other one out the door and the other straight into it.
"Ahhh, Gastinn, what are you.."
Sail ran through the new room which was drowned in a deep purple and full off hundreds of washing machines. He turned right and ran parallel with the springed arm floating beside him.
He was focused on looking as deep into the door it was coming from as he could. If he could just get a glimse of something. He ran right up to the door while the punch rapidly pulled back. If it suddenly jerked to the side to hit him he would just tank it.
Sail stretched his eyes as he looked through the door. There, he saw the spiralling white light of the spring extended all the way into the back of a conservatory and then deeper into another door.
As it whistled past the side of his obsidian head it felt like standing a millimeter away from a lorry on a motorway. Naturally for Sail.. A lorry was now something of a deep trauma for him. Well, starting today anyway.. This was all still the same day.
He watched as the fist whipped back through the door and then all the way through the conservatory and back out another door. Sail ran back through where he came and into the gallery room.
"Its stretching all throughout the place. Its.. Its punching through portals basically"
"You think thats.. the.. the core spirit?.. The 26th floor boss?"
"Oh uhh, yeah...maybe.."
"WHY??.. Why are they both here?, him and the Velvet??"
"LEFT. Get Behind. Now"
Both men looked at a given door slotted between a couple oil paintings as a springed boxing glove once more launched out at a blistering speed. It crashed against the obsidian of ever noir and knocked Sail into Shilling knocking him over. Shilling groaned in pain and reached for his bell once more.
"Im Ringing! Right... Right Now!"
"OOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG"
Sail flipped ever noir on and then off like a light switch and watched the springed spirit fall.
"If you can find a core item you can exorcise it."
"A core item??"
"Yeah, a possessed item like probably a vase or a doll or something"
"You can tell, with those.. those.. uhh. black eyes of yours?"
"Yeah, I exorcised the velvet scissors"
"Really???"
"Yes, I told you, these things are nothing. Anyone can kill them"
Shilling got up and jumped in place a little
"right... right. GOOD! RIGHT! YOU REALLY KILLED IT??"
"yes"
Shilling punched the air in the gut. His other hand was holding his own gut.
"ALRIGHT. DAMN. YES. ok ok.*cough* So they possess objects????"
"All the ghouls seemed to possess an item, at least these three seem to. But they are probably all hidden real deep in the manor. Its probably like protecting ones heart if it beated outside your chest."
"three?"
"The doors are a ghouls power.."
"I see... So we can find the item of the host spirit and destroy it?"
"That's the plan"
"Alright."
"I can see the links between the spirits and there objects. But thats only for another 2 minutes"
"Ah.. so we cant .. whats the cooldown?"
"10 hours"
"Oh.. How easy to spot was the object?"
"I figure youll know it when you see it. The velvet's was a small red plastic comb. It was tucked away somewhere hard to find. I imagine the others are similar... AHEAD"
Sail heard the music swell and quickly pointed to the given door with a finger that was now a statue. After a short while with nothing happening he smashed back out of the obsidian coating and lowered his finger.
The door sat wide open playing music from within...
On the other side of the gallery both men stared at the empty room beyond this door as the sounds kept rising.
After a short while, a crying tear mark came and took up the entire door pressing hard against the frame. Giant jester bells russled as they pushed through the door spilling onto the wooden floor. The crying blackeye then stopped and was perfectly still in its movement.
"AHhhhhhh. Gastin... Gastin Its watching us... Was ... was it not watching before???"
While locking eyes with the Sucker punch, Sail's white pupils melted to the base of his eyes. The white liquid pilled at the base and then surged, filling up his eye with a block of white. From inside the white 2 black spheres swirled into existance forming 2 new irises.
Sail watched as his field of view shrunk and reality was thrown back into the common affair.
Staring into the eye of the ghoul with such a meager vision of his own give him a true feeling of naked-ness and vulnerability that washed over his whole being. Losing wretched vision was a much more sudden deep blow on his conviction than he thought...
Cooldown: 1 minute 2 seconds....
