Chapter 221 "Secret"

Miyoung felt her eye twitch, sensing the wisp of moon natured spiritual energy sweeping across the surface of her Fragment Of Mind. A near-imperceptible flash of silver moonlight illuminating the first-floor of her Reckless Strength Palace, stirring the sleeping dragons that laid within.

The Graceful Dragon Of Treasured Beauty and Scent Of Draconic Plum-Wine shifting their enormous forms, draconian eyes glancing upwards towards the glittering traces of moonlight. Long Shen Xi baring her fanged maw, draconic-deer-esque horns gleaming with traces of beauty natured spiritual energy.

Jiu Mei Lan, who had transformed into her draconic state, flared her four, wine-soaked wings. The almost noxious scent of plum-wine filled the halls of Miyoung’s Reckless Strength Palace, gazing up towards the illusory moon that manifested itself above her.

The sounds of two angered dragons echoed out from the depths of her Fragment Of Mind.

Miyoung glancing down towards the hand extended to her, giving the man a smile that did not quite reach her eyes. Although Miyoung greeted him with a small nod of her head, her gaze unconsciously flickered towards Yujin.

Her manager, who was a mere four-years older than her nodded her head, accepting the handshake on her behalf.

“Apologies, Mr… Lee was it? I don’t believe we have been introduced thus far?” Yujin said, smiling at the man with level of politeness that almost seemed too practiced to be genuine.

The wisp of moon natured spiritual energy vanishing the moment Yujin clasped said hand. Her [Predator-Spell Eyes], despite their inherent effects, were unable to discern any changes in the man’s facial expression.

Nor his demeanour, nor any outward fluctuations of spiritual energy.

Miyoung watched as Yujin and Lee Minjun shook each other’s hands. The latter shaking his head in dismissal, tone measured and his expression unperturbed.

“That is probably because this is my first time at one of these events,” Lee Minjun said, “I have only quite recently come back from sabbatical, however, have come to represent a Mr Kim Sanghuk over the past few weeks.”

“The two of you are… well, were dating?” Lee Minjun smiled, the volume of his voice just an octave or two too high for polite conversation. Yujin, almost immediately perking her head up, smiling while ignoring the stares that were sent in their direction.

The not-so-muted chatter of multiple industry members echoed out around them.

“Ah? So the rumours were true then?”

“I knew that Kim Sanghuk and Miyoung Kim-Seydlitz were dating!”

“The two of them were spotted dining together after filming that episode with Bok Hae-Jin right?”

“I heard that Kim Sanghuk was spotted multiple times participating in the public searches!”

“I heard that too! Him, alongside most of the members of VANISH also participated!”

Miyoung remained unfazed, despite hearing all the conversations going on around her. Yujin beside her, opened her mouth to speak but-.

“Sabbatical… is that right, Mr Lee?”

“Is that another way of saying System Introduction?” Miyoung queried, watching as the man’s eyes twitched.

Yujin staring at her, a somewhat bizarre-looking expression marring her face. Lee Minjun glancing towards the dozens of uninitiated mortals all around them, straightening his posture and pulling his shoulders back so as to appear more confident.

A confidence that was born, from the sheer fact that he possessed spiritual energy, and those around him did not.

“I suppose I shouldn’t skirt around the issue then, if you plan on being this direct.” Lee Minjun released a loud and somewhat overexaggerated sigh.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“I’m afraid that I am going to have to ask you to come with me, Miss Kim-Seydlitz.”

His tone lacked any of the niceties of polite conversation. Hands placed behind his back, eyes narrowed and expression focused, wisps of moon natured spiritual energy saturating his voice and throat. Flashes of pale-silver moonlight flickering behind his dark brown eyes.

  Miyoung on the other hand-.

“And if I say that I don’t’ want to come?”

  “What will you do then?”

Lee Minjun tightening his lips for a single moment before uttering-.

“Then I’m afraid that I will have to use force.”

“Even if it is against someone as beautiful as yourself.”

Lee Minjun, or rather, the Lunar Horse-Centurion allowed several motes of horse natured spiritual energy to seep out of his Mana Core. Fragment Of Piercing-Iris detecting motes of war natured spiritual energy, alongside the familiar presence of moon natured spiritual energy.

The subtle activation of his own Fragment Of Aura caused his mannerisms and demeanour to shift, growing more confident and warlike, potentially even enhancing some of his physical capabilities. Several weaker-minded individuals in the crowds around them seemed to clench their temples in pain, hearing the distant clanging of sword against spear and the warlike cries of a million dead soldiers.

Yujin, due to her proximity to Lee Minjun, unconsciously lifted one of her fingers towards her nose, noticing a faint splotch of blood drip down from one nostril.

Miyoung watched his display, raising an eyebrow at the obvious showboating.

  “Oh really?”

Miyoung allowed an infinitesimal amount of strength-natured spiritual energy to flow into her Fragment Of Draconic-Metamorphosis. Her eyes shifting colour, gaining a dark-blue tint to them.

The corners of her mouth curling upwards.

“I’d like to see you try.”

  [Half-Dragon Transformation; Azure-Scaled Tyrant].

Lee Minjun immediately shifting his posture, moving his dominant foot backwards arms jolting upwards into a defensive position. His eyes widening, noticing the momentary transformation of her pupils and iris, strength natured spiritual energy brushing against him, as to envelop his mind and spirit.

Paper natured spiritual energy and sound natured spiritual energy, flowing from their respective Mana Cores into his Fragment Of Heart and Fragment Of Marrow. The activation of said abilities, not escaping Miyoung’s [Predator Spell Eyes].

Fragment Of Piercing-Iris, punching through the Mortal-Ranked effects of Lee Minjun’s Fragment Of Mind. Although she did not possess the same amount of finesse and control that Jon possessed over his Minerva-Infiltration Eyes, against Mortals who did not specialize in mental abilities-.

It was still more than enough.

“Oh? You’re still a Mortal. How quaint.”

Several blood vessels in Lee Minjun’s eye burst, dyeing his left sclera a noticeable shade of pink. Hand swiftly moving upwards towards his face, wincing softly as he covered said eye with his hand.

His sudden jerking movements attracting the eyes of multiple individuals all around them.

Miyoung deactivating her Fragment Of Draconic-Metamorphosis, stepping forward with her head held high. Lee Minjun, mimicking the action, taking several steps backward, expression pale and lips suddenly dry.

  “Y-you’re a Kni-.”

“Yes.” Miyoung said, interrupting him mid-sentence. Her eyes glancing towards the dozens of men and women all around her. Although most were her peers, individuals who possessed similar talents and roles within the entertainment industry, there were still a large number of executives and select government personnel present.

She could see behind her, Yujin trying to diffuse the situation, smiling and waving her arms towards the audience that she had accumulated. Innana-Graceful Smile and Astarte-Chaste Lust making it impossible for others to remove their eyes off her.

Her corners of her mouth creeping upwards into something not-quite-a smile.

“What did you think was going to happen today, Mr Lee?”

“What did you think you were going to do after getting inside my head?” Miyoung said, her words ambiguous, albeit intentionally and directed straight at Lee Minjun.

The man in question shaking his head frantically from side-to-side, still covering his left eye.

“N-no! You misunderstand! I was ordered to investigate -.”

The Archon Of Reigning Dragons stepped forward once more, relishing, as she watched Lee Minjun take additional steps backward in response. His figure almost walking straight into a handsome, if somewhat young-looking man.

One that she had recognized as the only son of the current Minister Of Defence.

The sound of glass shattering echoed throughout the hall, as all conversations came to a swift and sudden halt. Lee Minjun crashing into the man behind him, resulting in-.

“W-wait a second! I-I’m here as member of-.”

Two enormous security guards swiftly moving towards the commotion, members of a private security detail that also attended the event. The two uninitiated mortals restraining Lee Minjun, who for whatever reason, did not dare to activate any of his abilities in the presence of such a large group.

His eyes staring back at Miyoung hatefully, teeth gritted and fists clenched as he was escorted all the way out of the hall. Several other members of the staff quickly moved to check on the minister’s son, checking him for any injuries.

The eyes of everyone else in the room however-.

“Miyoung…” Yujin muttered, watching as her younger friend smiled at her, cheeks slightly flushed pink seeing just how strong and beautiful she looked in that moment.

  Was focused solely on Miyoung.

“What the hell happened to you these last two months?” Yujin whispered, the two women walking towards the opposite end of the party. Miyoung, or the Archon Of Reigning Dragons rather, just smiled.

  Enjoying the feeling of ‘strength.’

Raising her index finger up towards her mouth, Miyoung winked at Yujin, flashing her a devastatingly beautiful smile.

  “… Secret.”
