2. Supernatural School Days

Luis, had unsurprisingly not been completely honest about what kind of game Supernatural School Days was.

He pitched it as a JRPG with adult elements. It was in fact the exact opposite.

The game was actually an adult rated dating sim with explicit content, and JRPG gameplay features. Features like an open world and characters with unique personalities and skill trees.

After reading several reviews praising the amazing combat, and assurances online that the more graphic adult content of the game was optional. I purchased it and installed it onto my laptop, ready to at a minimum give it a chance to wow me.

  ***

Truth be told, it was an interesting experience. Playing as a teenage boy and his childhood friend (and main romantic love interest) as they get embroiled in a conflict between supernatural criminal organizations.

Trying to make friends with side characters and raise affection with possible love interests . Leveling up your party and going through each girl and the protagonist's abilities. Choosing different synergies for boss fights and taking on gangs and minor events.

The main antagonist turned out to be another student who was a delinquent vampire , and heir to the strongest yakuza organization in the city.

It took an insane amount of prep time to even attempt taking him down, having to fight his two goons who were always with him.

Then after that you had to immediately fight him, the guy who had sabotaged you and tried to steal away your “conquests”.

The only problem was that he was insanely powerful, wielding blood magic and having crazy high physical stats and rapid health regen that only got higher the longer it took to confront him.

Plus a second phase once you got him below half health where he would be joined by a large wolf made of shadows who could turn intangible and bind the party.

It being my first playthrough I finished with a game loss after making many wrong choices.

Alienating several potential allies and having a lover choose to join the antagonist against me due to decisions on several dialogue options during her story.

Not to mention missing over 3/4ths of the optional events taking on criminals, helping citizens, and leaving side quests for the different girls unresolved. Leading to my whole party being under leveled, and missing possible buffs from finishing their storylines.

Overall a colossal failure that took several days to complete. I thought about calling it there but… It had been a genuinely fun time. Luis might have purchased the game for what I suspect was the adult rated content, but he had been right. I had a crazy amount of fun with the combat and characters.

Besides, now that I know more about the game, random events, and some of the choices to avoid. I should be able to beat the game and get a good ending on a second run.

  Right..?

  ***

It took 17 tries, and an agonizing 2 month long endeavor of trial and error, but I had finally gotten one of the good endings and beat the final boss.

I had to use underhanded methods since I couldn’t beat him in a fair brawl but he was behind bars. It was a win as far as the game was concerned.

I had to engage in more of the dating sim element than I originally planned, even that aspect of Supernatural School Days eventually grew on me.

Managing affection with the different heroines, thwarting the schemes of my rival, taking down gangs of supernaturally gifted people, and aiding those in need around the city.

It was an exceptional challenge, especially since I had wanted to get my first victory without looking up internet guides, checking forums, or taking advice from Luis who had teased me for being unable to get one of the good endings.

But after everything was said and done, I HAD done it. I beat the game, my ending was subpar at best. I still had only managed to max out a single girl's affection leading to one of her happy endings.

One of the other main heroines had to still go though a sad ending where her family were crushed under a mountain of debt and disappeared mysteriously.

Many new gangs would replace the old, and the main antagonist family still held power, even if the heir had been sent to prison his brother just replaced him.

I knew that I could do better, I could get a perfect ending.

  ***

“Oh my God, I’m gonna be sick.” I had gone ashen and had to cover my mouth to hold down my lunch.

I had completed my 83rd playthrough of Supernatural School Days, It felt like I had an insane pipe dream a year ago. Wanting to get the “perfect” ending, it had felt like an ironic joke, no matter what I tried to do it felt impossible.

I had tried every girl's route, every combination of party compositions, and ability combos. Even made a harem at one point in an attempt to create the best ending.

Every ending was a mixed result, no matter what I tried. Not everyone could get their happy ending, and in a moment of morbid curiosity I had a thought.

‘What if I made every wrong choice?’

I burned every bridge between me and the heroines, ignored every person in distress, and tanked the MC’s school grades.

Which led to the cutscene I had just finished watching. The city burned with overwhelming amounts of crime and violence, my character failed and was kicked out of school, and the game's main antagonist stole away every girl my character had been interested in.

Doing absolutely horrendous things to and with them in cutscenes that were way beyond graphic, and had at one point made me actually vomit and almost uninstall the game.

YesI had made the worst possible choice at every turn, but I didn’t know the devs were so sadistic.

This playthrough had reignited a fire that had sputtered out though. I was gonna get that “perfect” ending, no matter what or how long it took.

I was gonna give that deplorable bastard the game makers created, the worst possible ending imaginable.

-Thank you for playing! You have completed the game 112 times.

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

I couldn't help the almost feral grin that stretched across my face. It had taken months upon months of planning, talking to his friend Luis about the game, and scouring every wiki and forum on the game and how to get the best endings but he had done it.

He had crushed the villain at every possible turn. Foiled every plan. Tore down his family. Beaten every boss the crime syndicates had, and left his rival in ruins.

The final cutscene was cathartic, the most vile character I’ve ever seen wept pathetically behind bars while I went on to enjoy my life and every main girl was happy.

It took till the end of James’ final year of college, and he would have to start searching for a new job being more busy than ever before. So it was perfect that he finished his quest for the best ending possible days before his graduation ceremony.

“I have no idea how long it took for the Devs to make this story, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this amazing game."

Then instead of the end credits scrolling down showcasing background art of the school and city as per usual, the screen stayed black and empty before words started appearing in the center as if being typed in real time.

-Thank you for the kind words, it was indeed an arduous journey to make happen

"What in the world? Uhh you’re welcome?" James could only reply in confusion as text continued to appear on screen.

-For your unrelenting dedication towards the people you love, we bestow upon you a final gift

"Gift? Is this some kind of hidden unlockable for getting the best ending?"

-SLAUGHTER, DRINK, LOVE, LIVE, DO AS YOUR HEART DESIRES

  ‘HUH? What's that suppos-’

James couldn't continue his train of thought as unrelenting agony bloomed across his mind and he became dizzy. He blinked his eyes open multiple times watching his room spin through teary eyes. He stood from his seat screaming out in pain, falling to the floor as he held his head.

The last thing he saw before losing consciousness was a line of text on his screen simply saying.

  -See you soon

  ***

  "AGHHHHHHHHHH"

James jolted awake as his head continued to throb, he heard something clatter against the tiled floor when he sat.

He quickly tried to scramble up, attempting to push himself up off the floor when his left arm gave out from under him and he collapsed back into a puddle on the floor.

He began to feel panic set in even deeper when he realized the liquid he was laying in was a deep red.

“AHHH, WHAT THE FUCK!” His voice was too deep, likely hoarse from who knew how long of disuse.

Why was there blood tho? Had he hit his head when he fainted in his apartment? Where was he? This wasn’t his home. Why did his arm hurt?

He found where the blood had come from. Scoring all across his forearm were row after row of cuts that looked to have scraped across bone with how deep they were dug across.

Then he found what had clattered to the floor when he awoke. Across the floor was an ornate dagger, an antique stiletto made of shimmering silver. Light reflected off the entire thing, everywhere except the blade, which was coated in his blood.

‘I’m so thirsty… Am I dehydrated from blood loss?’

‘I’m so thirsty… Who cut me?’

‘So thirsty… So…’’ It was the only thought that he could manage anymore. His unrelentingly parched throat refused to wait.

He staggered to his feet, almost slipping in the large puddle of blood that belonged to him.

Taking his first real look around he found he was in a large kitchen. Several appliances were behind him. Stove, fridge, dishwasher, cabinets that were underneath a stretch of black granite countertops.

And in front was an island with a sink facing him with a tiered stand for glass cups. He took one and started filling it with water.

He downed it in less than a second, then another, and a third. Not a single drop helped, his throat still felt so parched.

Squeezing his hand in frustration that bubbled up from seemingly nowhere. The glass in his hand exploded in a shower of shards.

“Deep breaths, in…” A deep inhale was all it took, he smelled it. Something almost disgustingly sweet was emanating from the fridge.

The door to it was open before he could register that he had moved, bags upon bags of sealed liquid lined every shelf.

One was in his hand and torn open before he could even read what it was. Gulping mouthfuls of sweet nectar, it was so refreshing. Like nothing he ever had before, like honey and berries.

Just as much spilled over his chin dripping onto the floor, as did get into his mouth. Something in his mind whispered it would taste even better if it was still hot… And fresh. An instinct he didn’t know what to do with, he didn’t know what the drink even was let alone how to brew it fresh.

5 empty bags laid on the floor with a 6th clenched in his hand before he was done. He leaned against the open fridge resting his forehead against it, eyes closed as he let the cool air wash over him.

“What happened to me?” Another realization then.

'Wait... that was Japanese, and why is my voice still so deep?'

  "I don't know Japanese."

Again. Each time he spoke it came out in the only slightly familiar language, one he never learned to speak but could somewhat recognize from checking out anime recommended to him by his friend Luis and with a reverb he did not possess.

Then all at once, pain. Someone pried open his skull and poured molten metal directly over his brain. He fell onto his knees rendered utterly senseless.

Memories, random events, different people and places, names. All of which he vaguely recognized began to seep into his mind coating every fold, nook, and cranny.

It was impossible to track how long he endured this torture, it could have been seconds or hours for all he knew, it slowly subsided leaving a low ringing in his ears.

He bolted upright trying his best to catch his breath. Horror slowly began to dawn on him as he processed all the information that had come to him. He KNEW who all those memories belonged to.

"No... No you're joking." James patted his body finding rippling muscle and eight pack abs beneath blood soaked clothes, things he never had before in his life. Clothes that were different from before.

He sprinted to the bathroom, he just knew where it was now. It was ridiculously large.

A giant tub that could easily fit multiple people and was more like a party jacuzzi, and a shower the size of a large closet.

It even had its own closet where he knew he would find towels and bath robes. Most importantly though it had a mirror he could look at himself in.

  And he did look…

Staring back at him was a face he knew. Not the one he grew up with however. Not the one he saw everyday for 22 years, but one he grew intimately familiar with over the last year and a half.

It was a young 16 year old with delinquent blond hair matted with blood that flowed to his shoulders. Ears sporting way too many earrings, blue eyes like unending glacial ice, and a face that looked like it came straight out of a woman's fashion magazine.

The only thing marring his new look was a chin, covered in red stains from his earlier drink. Red stains that matched the ones covering his clothes and hair. He finally looked at the bag still clutched in his hand.

“Doner: Sakai Izuku, Blood Type AB Positive.” James started laughing like a madman.

“I’m so incredibly fucked.” The reality of the situation was setting in.

He had transmigrated from being an orphan who lived alone on government aid just to attend college, into the game of Supernatural School Days. A game that took place in a fictional Japanese city of Sukimi.

But isn't that what every loser in his situation and almost no friends or family dreams of?

Yes, and he HAD dreamed of it. So what was the problem?

The problem was he wasn't the main character, he wasn't even his friend, or a side character, not even a fucking background silhouette to fill out a scene.

  No.

He became the game's Main villain.

The monster who torments the MC and his harem of possible women and friends. The Garbage that makes it his goal to destroy the Protagonist and anyone he associates with.

The bastard that steals away the MC's women if their affection falls too low and does horrible things to them.

He was the pure-blooded vampire and heir to the largest Yakuza crime syndicate in the game.

  He was Kuro Takamura.

  The Takamura family’s Vampire Prince.
