Melissa was dropped off at her collage slightly out of town, despite all that’s happened Melissa knew her teacher would still be there.
She knocked on the front door, and luckily the janitor let her in.
“Is Mr. Oliver around.”
The janitor women nodded.
“Yes he’s expecting someone.”
“Thank you Miss.”
The janitor smiled.
“Your welcome.”
Melissa walked through the halls, and after a bit she reached the classroom, Melissa walked in.
Professor Benjamin Oliver, he had nearly jet black hair, to his shoulders, he had very tan skin, and was fit but not too fit., he was in his mid 40’s sat at his desk grading papers with as smile on his face, he looked up.
“Hello Miss Melissa.”
Melissa smiled
“Hey sir.”
She sat.
Professor Oliver smiled.
“Melissa I you’ve always performed the best in my class.”
Melissa smiles.
“Thanks sir.”
Professor Oliver put his head on his hand.
“So you’ve come to talk to me about your departure?”
Melissa eyes widen.
“How did you…”
He smiles.
“That is no matter.”
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
As he leans forward.
“So Melissa, why have you decided to make this decision.”
Melissa leaned back.
“Well, I think I can accomplish my dreams best this way.”
Professor Oliver strokes his chin.
“To become a famous author correct, hmm well I guess it would be an amazing story, told by the ‘hero’ herself, could even go down in the history books.”
Melissa nods, as Professor Oliver continues.
“Though there is a reason I tell you all to be careful of the history you study, because at the surface it reads as many atrocities committed by man, but as you read deeper you wonder could ‘man’ really do such a thing?”
Melissa feels goose bumps cover her body, Professor Oliver isn’t quite done speaking.
“I personally don’t believe so, I believe it’s the works of something much older, something that once you uncover it, you won’t ever get to chance to cover it back up.”
As he says the lights sparkle, but as they look over, they see nothing.
Melissa opens her mouth, however Professor Oliver covers it.
“Watch your words.”
Melissa leans in.
“I understand.”
Professor Oliver shakes his head.
“Just understand that once you explore the world, and uncover the secrets of it, what you encounter won’t always be explainable, take caution.”
Melissa nods.
Professor Oliver stands and walks over to stand, and grabs a pen and a journal, and a pack of envelopes, he walks back to Melissa and hands her the journal.
“I ask of you only one thing, as you travel the world, I ask that you send me letters of your journey, this journal here can serve both as your book, while these envelopes each have letters in them, neither the journal nor letters will exhaust.”
Melissa takes them and bows.
“Thank you sir, I will make sure to document my journey and send you what I learn, however, you did not answer my previous question and now I have an additional question. One, How did you know that I’d come to you, and know my intentions, two, how did you obtain these items?”
Professor Oliver smiled.
“ for the second question, I obtained these from the continent of ‘magic’ they call it, Eldoria my home town, and for the first question, do not dare pry into something that you are not yet ready to know… doing so will result in a quick death, at least at this level.”
Melissa nods.
“Professor do you think I can do it?”
Professor Oliver stroked his chin.
“Why yes I do, I’m sure you know of the great world war of Draugmar?”
Melissa nodded, “Yes it was a war between every country in Draugmar, Skeldrheim helped resolve it and they had backing from some countries in Verdanthir.”
Professor Oliver smiled,
“Correct, you see there were to great hero’s in that war, the first was Alexander Henry, a trained soldier from Verdanthir who with the help of his army killed over 950,000 soldiers in order to stop the war and he was outnumbered every time.”
Melissa nodded.
Professor Oliver carried on.
“However I think the other hero was much more impressive, she was a woman much like you, her name was Isabella Dorthy she was poor and reportedly schizophrenic, allegedly she heard a voice of a man that told her to go out and murder the enemy soldiers to protect her country of Azad.”
Melissa leaned in.
“However she disobeyed, and went out to war, however she killed not a single soul and either made them give up, or neutralized them, 325,000 to be exact,”
Melissa smiled.
“While the number is much less, she saved so many.”
Melissa frowned.
“Didn’t she die though…”
Professor Oliver frowned.
“Yes, apparently the people of her town went into a rage and burned the town and her down.”
Melissa lowered her head.
“What does that mean for me then…?”
Professor Oliver smiled.
“It means you’ll do your best no matter what, even if you fall in the end.”
Melissa smiled ever so slightly.
“Thank you sir.”
She looked up.
“Say what was the war of Draugmar fought over again?”
Professor Oliver shrugged.
“No one knows, however I’m certain you’ll find out.”
Melissa smiled as she walked to the door.
“See you later.”
Professor Oliver smiled.
“I wish you well.”
As Melissa walked out the door.
She walked and walked, and then exited the main door, as she walked out she felt rain cover her soaking her wet.
“Shit!!”
But as she looked up, Nothing….
“Ok man what the fuck.”
She looked back and infront of the door was a giant puddle just like in Chris’s house.
Melissa phones Chris.
“I’m ready.”
***
Melissa steps in the van, everyone greeting her.
Melissa smiles.
“How did everyone’s goodbyes go?”
Devan nods, “Well I just told big ma, and grandma bye, they seemed rather upset to see me go, so we had a family game night.”
Neveil rubbed his head.
“I didn’t say goodbye.”
Chris nods.
“Same except I don’t got anybody to say goodbye to.”
Mac smiles.
“You know your all I have baby.”
Melissa smiles.
“Very well then let’s get this show on the road.”
As Mac and Chris exchange seats, and Mac drives away.
