Chapter 4: The shocking discovery.

They hop back in the van, speeding away far beyond the speed limit, the terrifying Gashadokuro follows close behind, but this time they don’t feel fear, something much different, that defeating the Hōnengyo instilled in them…

They fly through the streets, nearly hitting buildings from their sharp turns but it is no matter, they see bodies of both civilians and military soldiers, which puts a hole in their spirts, why had the military failed? It wasn’t fire power not a way in hell, it wasn’t numbers…. Oh right you know the answer… the ability to prevail over the world…

So yes it’s true that hundreds have already lost their lives, however that doesn’t mean there isn’t more to save, that more aren’t reaching their hands out of hell with hopes of someone pulling them out, so maybe just maybe you can be the hand in the darkness that pulls others through… maybe just maybe you can save one other person…

They fly into the football stadium, as Devan and the others runs over to the light switch, but suddenly the Gashadokuro catches up quicker than expected, and swipes its hands down intending to crush them.

But just as that happens another hand push’s it away, it seemingly came out of nowhere.

  Neveil looks around,

  “What was that?”

  Melissa looks around.

  “I don’t know…”

Devan hits the switch, as the Gashadokuro begins to fade, but it lifts its hands for one final decisive blow.

  Melissa frowns.

As the air rapidly crackles, and lighting strikes striking the Gashadokuro’s head… as it faded to the light.

Everyone stays silent… as they look around.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

  Devan breaks the ice.

“What… what was that, was the a coincidence?”

  Neveil shakes his head.

“No, it simply can’t be. It would mean a Yokai randomly saved us and lightning just so happen to strike, we did that.”

  Melissa scratches her head.

“Yeah but how though is the issue, I mean did I just call lightning.”

  Devan shrugs his shoulders.

  “I mean maybe it’s possible.”

  Melissa grins.

“Let’s go talk to someone smarter than us.”

  Neveil shakes his head reluctantly.

  “Very well.”

  Devan rubs his neck.

“Should I turn the light off?”

  Neveil thinks.

“Well it might be alive… what do you think Mel?”

  Melissa taps her foot.

“Well honestly, the things never been damaged before so I haven’t heard any stories of regeneration, but to be fair I could’ve only stunned it, it could not be dead.”

  Devan thinks for a second.

“Well, it’s better to see now.”

Devan switch’s off the light, and nothing came.

  Melissa smiles.

“Hmm, well looks like we’re all good.”

As she walks off to the van, Devan and Neveil follow close.

They get in van, Melissa driving this time around.

  Melissa rubs her head.

“I wonder when my husband will arrive.”

  Devan quickly responds.

“Watch it be at the worst time possible.”

  Neveil smacks his teeth.

  “Man don’t jinx it..”

  Devan sighs.

  “Alright man.”

  Melissa giggles.

“Anyway I made sure to tell Chris we’re on the way.”

  Devan nods.

  “Alright.”

Neveil leaned his head against the window.

Melissa looked straight at all the destruction and burning buildings, the fire reflected in the windshield, and most of all Melissa’s monocle.

  Her expression remained unreadable.

“So what do you guys wanna do after this all gets wrapped up?”

Devan thinks, “Well I’d love to get back to football, but I know that’s not possible.”

  Neveil nods.

“Well I was just gonna keep living my life.”

  Melissa smiles.

“I was gonna graduate with a bachelors in history and do history I guess..”

  Devan tilts his head.

  “You seem unhappy.”

  Melissa nods.

  “Well I am.”

  Neveil scratches his head.

“Well tell us about it I guess.”

  Melissa smiles.

“ well I guess I’ve always been into writing and media, so as you guys know ever since we’ve been growing up, I’ve always wanted to tell a big story and be able to teach people about my story other stories that inspired me, but umm… well I guess I was afraid, and you know, I liked history facts, so I went for a more stable job.”

  Devan frowns.

  “I see…”

  Neveil nods.

“Do what you want, and it’ll probably work out if you try hard enough.”

Melissa looks up, to the polluted sky, however there is one small spot in that sky, that shows the beautiful moon, it was bewitching.

  “ well then I know what I wanna do…”

  Devan tilts his head.

  “And that is?”

  Melissa smiled a… ridiculous smile.

“I want to explore the world, all seven continents, Middara that were in, Skeldrheim, Solkarra, Verdanthir, Aetheris, Draugmar, and even Eldoria, and by the end of it when I come back, I’ll be able to tell the best story, because it’ll all be real, and maybe we’ll run into more monsters that we can win against.”

  Neveil sighed.

“That will take a long time.”

  Melissa rolled her eyes.

  “Duh that’s the point.”

Just as they pulled into Chris’s drive way.

  Melissa stood and stretched.

“And we’ll bring our friends along!”

As she ran over to the door and knocked.

She heard foot steps, and the knob turned, and right after the door opened.

A man opened the door, blond hair, he had blue eyes, and was rather pale, he also gave off a gay vibe.

  “What’s sup.”

  Melissa smiled.

“Hey Chris Osteen, or should I say bum?”
