  EXPERIMENT #496

  Today marks the 496th experiment of the Creation Project and the 300th year of this long, long journey. I, Professor Adam Paradias, am the current lead scientist of the Creation Project.

  We will be conducting today's experiment with various changing variables.

  First, the sperm that we will be using is mixed. We gathered a certain amount of sperm from many different people from all around the world. The procedure for gathering the sperm consists of two methods. One, we use all the men in this facility to let out their sperm, which consists of men from different nationalities and ethnicities. Two, we ask for sperm from hospitals all around the country. Next, we would mix a certain portion of each sperm section to be put inside the man-made womb. And now, we wait another 9 months while monitoring the development of the embryo inside.

  9 months later, result: SUCCESS

  Experiment #496 has finally borne fruit. The Creation Project has finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel. A complete human baby was successfully created from the experiment today without any abnormalities. Continue to monitor the baby until he/she develops a certain kind of Faith for this Project to actually give results.

  5 years later, Faith Power: AWAKEN

  Experiment #496 has developed the power to manipulate the flow of time. We have finally created a human with a strong Faith power. Further plans for the usage of the experiment remain on standby.

  ". . . . this photo. . . it's Lily-san. . . She is an artificial human being? They succeeded? How many years did it take them to get to this point?"

  Light flips back the pages to the first page. He carefully re-reads the entire page to try to find any sort of dates or calendars.

  "None. . ."

  Light flipped to the second page, and he did the same, but it was in vain. And then he quickly flips and skips over a few pages to try to do the same thing, and they are all the same. There were no dates for any of the experiments whatsoever.

  "Is this. . . merely a copy for the normal workers to read so they can't trace back the dates?"

  ". . . ."

  "Gaaahh!! That's just some baseless opinion! I need to ask Lily-san later if she knows anything about this. . . Or. . . she might be simply a victim in all of these. . ."

  ". . . . This is. . . I don't know how to handle stuff like this. . . Dear God, please give me strength for this matter. . ."

  *!!!*

  All of a sudden, the small blue clock that Light holds in his hand disappears and breaks apart.

  "The sign?!"

  "WAAAAAHHH!! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?"

  *!?*

  Light turned around and saw that the scientist who was supposed to be frozen in time had suddenly moved again, and now he was even pointing a gun towards Light.

  "Crap! What happened? Her time stop was dispelled?"

  Immediately, Light warps behind him. He blackens his hands, and from behind, he grabs him with his left and places his right hand over the scientist's face.

  *!!!*

  "Go to sleep!"

  The scientist was in so much shock, and yet he couldn't even let out a voice because of Light's blackened hand. Light absorbed any air from his lungs, resulting in him passing out from the lack of oxygen. He lays down the scientist's body on the floor.

  "Now, I have to go to where she. . ."

  "Wait! She didn't even tell me where she went! I'm gonna have to improvise!!"

  Light immediately left the room and then ran across a long hallway. Towards every door he sees, he blackens his right hand and bashes each door broken and open. He keeps doing this until he's done with the entire floor.

  "Not here!"

  Light takes up the staircase and reaches floor B2, he proceeds to do the same thing towards any doors he comes across. After bashing open half of the entire doors available on this floor, he finally arrives at the correct destination.

  "LILY-SAN! ARE YOU HERE?"

  Light has come across the same grey room with a 7x7 meter square in size.

  *!*

  He finds Lily sitting on her knees on the floor as she rests her head and hands against the glass wall.

  *sobs sobs*

  Lily was crying. Her voice sounds so weak and sorrowful. It is clear that something has happened while he was away. Light immediately approaches her and crouches next to her. He places his hand on her left shoulder.

  "Lily-san! What happened?"

  *!*

  Lily turns around in shock.

  "Lune. . . hart-san. . ."

  Light was devastated upon seeing her facial expression. The only thing he feels is worry for he doesn't know what just happened to her, and regret for not being with her the whole time.

  "What happened?"

  ". . . . ."

  Lily puts her head down and closes her eyes.

  "Lily-san. . ."

  She immediately turns her head towards Light.

  "IT WAS BECAUSE OF YOU!!"

  "L-Lily-san?"

  "IT'S BECAUSE OF YOUR INTERFERENCE!!! BECAUSE OF YOU!!! I LOST MY BEST FRIEND!!!"

  Lily screams so loudly that she almost hurts Light's ears. He covers both of his ears in reflex.

  "UGH!! Lily-san. . ."

  Lily stands up. She summons forth her blue clock-hand sword and points it towards Light.

  "YOU!!"

  Lily was consumed by anger, her veins were becoming visible on her face as she gazed at him with intense yet teary eyes. She grips her sword's grip so tightly that there are also visible veins appearing on her hand.

  "YOU RUIN EVERYTHING!! YOU'VE RUINED MY LIFE!!! ALL BECAUSE OF OUR MEETING!!! YOU ARE A CURSE TO ME!!!"

  "Lily-san! What happened? We've decided to fight back against whoever is threatening you!"

  "SHUT UUUUPPP!!!!"

  Lily screams loudly once again, and Light covers both of his ears again in reflex.

  "Urgh!!"

  Lily raises her sword upwards as she holds it with both of her hands. The sword glows brightly in light blue color, and it illuminates the entire room as she prepares to attack Light.

  "YOOOUUUUUUU!!!!"

  Light finally notices something weird. It was Lily's pupils; they were supposed to be in ocean blue color, but right now, there's a small red ring appearing inside her pupils.

  "(What on earth is that?)"

  "LILY-SAN! STOP IT!!"

  "SHUT UP!!"

  Lily swings her blue sword down and sends a slashing attack that travels at a speed faster than light, as per usual. Light raises both of his arms in a cross before she swings and blackens his hands. He blocks the slash and absorbs it into his hands.

  "I guess we're doing this again, huh, Lily-san?"

  "I AM GOING TO KILL YOU, YOU MEDDLER!!"

  "TCH!"

  Light warps behind Lily. He punches Lily with his right hand towards the back of her head.

  "Car mass, REJECTION!!"

  Lily dodges the attack in the very last second before it connects, and yet she is still hit by his punch because of the way his technique works.

  "AAARRGGHH!!"

  Lily was flung and bounced a few meters across the floor before she leaped and recovered herself and landed safely.

  "Of course! How could I forget about that attack? I can't really dodge that normally; I have to be as far away as possible!"

  "We shouldn't be fighting, Lily-san!"

  "Quiet!"

  Lily stabs the floor with her sword. The sword glows so bright that it blinds Light's vision, and he covers both of his eyes in reflex.

  "Ugh!"

  "Accelerate!!"

  Eventually, the light from her sword shines and lights up the building in its entirety.

  After a few seconds, the light fades away. As Light still closed his eyes, he felt that he lost his footing. The floor that he stands on disappears, and so he blackens his feet to float in the air by adjusting gravity on his blackened leg to counter Earth's gravitational pull.

  Light opens his eyes.

  "What?"

  The first thing he sees is that there are no longer any rooms, any walls, any ceilings, or any floors at all; in fact, the entire building is gone, including the three basements under the ground. He is currently floating in midair inside a giant hole of soft soil where the basement and the entire building used to be.

  Light also did not see Lily anywhere in the vicinity.

  "I couldn't use this last night."

  *!*

  Light hears her voice coming from above. He tilts his head upwards and finally sees her, floating high above the city, higher than any tall buildings in the city, spreading her six swords to act as wings on her back.

  "SECOND STATE!!"

  *!!!*

  Lily was suddenly engulfed by the same sphere of light that engulfs someone when they first awaken their Faith power; however, for actual Believers, this sphere of light means something different. The only difference is that her sphere of light is in her light blue color.

  A bright light blue light shoots out from the top of the sphere towards the sky. After a few seconds, the sphere breaks apart little by little, and Lily comes out of it with a completely different appearance.

  Her hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes are now permanently light blue. Both of her pupils have roman numerals and are imitating the design of a clock. Her clothing is entirely different, as she wears a white, royalty-like cloak with white fur on her neck. Her cloak reaches all the way to her feet with white fur on the bottom part. There are twelve Roman numerals from one to twelve written across the length of the bottom part. Her cloak has golden buttons from top to bottom, but it’s only buttoned near her stomach, revealing a dark blue tight sleeveless shirt with a high neck cover. She wears a pair of detached white bell-sleeves that cover her forearms, paired with white gloves. She wears short white mini-skirts with a pair of long socks that reach past her upper knees and a pair of white high-heeled boots with blue stripes at the top edge that cover half of her bottom thighs. Her dress is mostly white with a little bit of blue and golden colorations here and there. There is a floating crown made of light with white and blue coloration above her head. Twelve of her clock hand swords are floating behind her back in a formation to act as a large pair of wings, with six swords on each side behind her back. There's also a transparent light blue feather cloak called a Hagoromo in Japanese, floating around her back and also coiling around her upper arms, and its length goes past each of her sides and flows freely in the wind. Her skin is now pure white, like the actual white color rather than the white skin color. Her expression is also flat and calm, unlike her expressions before.

  "Second State: Queen of Time." said Lily with a flat tone.

  "Second State. . ."

  Light recognizes this. It is called Second State, the next stage of Faith power. It is a state where a Believer can abuse their Faith power. During this state, Faith powers are no longer bound by rules and limitations. This phenomenon lasts for exactly five minutes and will go on a cool down for a full twenty-four hours from the moment it wears off, though to be noted, Second State does not grant any boost in power or output whatsoever. There is a general common behavior of Second State depending on the type of Faith power.

  For Armament type, they fused with their weapons/tools and gained that said armament's abilities on their bodies. They are still able to summon their weapons/tools, but they now have double the ability, which essentially doubles their output or power as well. This is the only Faith power type that actually gains a boost in power during Second State because of how they work. Their Vein Armor also evolves into Ethereal armor that changes the user's appearance as well, which allows the user to phase through solid objects, though it doesn't work on human beings.

  For Elemental type, their whole body became the Source, essentially making them immortal for a short time. Their Source can still be damaged, but only the wounded part cannot produce energy, which doesn't make a difference during this state.

  For Transformation type, they are able to transform their whole body without the 40% body limitation. Sometimes, they also gain a completely different appearances that vary between Believers compared to what they think they would look like in their First State.

  For Summoner type, they are able to fully transform into a humanoid version of their summoned beings. They are now able to fight together along with their summoned beings for a short time, essentially making every 1v1 fight against Summoner type into a 2v1.

  For Special type, it works differently depending on the Believers.

  Lily's Faith power is called Chronos' Wisdom. It is a Special type Faith power. Just like Elemental type, she can manipulate the flow of time to her liking. The thing she does with this ability is to shape the flow of time into the shape of a light blue clock-hand sword and a light blue clock shield. Another ability of hers is that she can command the flow of time to either Accelerate, Stop, Slow, or Revert. She is also able to use these commands either on herself or on her target. She can also use these abilities through her eyes, and they result in different functions. Though currently, she can only use Accelerate, in which she can absorb information a lot faster than any human being, essentially giving her the ability to also read the movements of her opponents. However, she can only use two of her commands of time at the same time. But when she enters Second State, this restriction no longer applies to her for the entire five minutes.

  "I see. I've always wondered why they specifically address you as 'Queen of Time'. This makes sense. You truly live up to your title."

  As Light was in awe by Lily's Second State look, she approaches him with the same speed she always does, and she slices Light 111 different times within just one second.
