Episode 127

Securing information is the foundation of everything.

Jihyeon focused his consciousness to track the path taken by those who had kidnapped Min-ah. Ignoring the pain that felt like his brain was on fire, he checked every CCTV feed in the vicinity.

Fortunately, the kidnappers were far from perfect. They left traces of themselves in numerous places, which was no different from leaving a signal for Jihyeon to follow.

However, Jihyeon did not move immediately.

If something were to happen while he was alone, it would be a disaster. He didn't care if he died, but he could not forgive himself if he failed to save Min-ah.

Therefore, Jihyeon first headed toward the place where Ha-hyeon was fighting. For now, he needed his help. Jihyeon subdued the berserker at Ha-hyeon's location with a single blow and immediately dragged Ha-hyeon toward the place where Min-ah was kidnapped.

"Do we really have to do it like this?"

Ha-hyeon grumbled, but Jihyeon said nothing. Being dragged along like a piece of luggage was a major source of dissatisfaction for Ha-hyeon, but Jihyeon had no leisure to listen to his complaints.

Instead, Jihyeon explained what had happened. Of course, Ha-hyeon didn't show much interest at first. He understood that the kidnapping of Jihyeon's acquaintance was a significant incident in its own way, but Ha-hyeon wasn't a kind enough person to care about a total stranger's affairs. He loathed exerting effort for things unrelated to him.

This might have been due to the environment he grew up in. Ha-hyeon had always lived a difficult life, making profit and personal relevance key points for him.

However, with just one mention of the "Cult," his expression changed instantly. He could never ignore anything related to them.

To Ha-hyeon, the Cult was simply the enemy—the unforgivable bastards who had destroyed his family. If it was a matter of crushing them, Ha-hyeon was ready to do anything. Perhaps Jihyeon had even prepared this stage specifically for him.

"It will be dangerous, though," Jihyeon said, looking at Ha-hyeon.

Ha-hyeon responded with a look that suggested he was almost glad to hear it.

"Has anything been safe since I started this work? If I can punch those damn bastards, that's enough for me."

Ha-hyeon seemed certain that his brother, Ha-eun, would be there. Watching him, Jihyeon let out a soft sigh. Ha-hyeon's life might be at risk, but Jihyeon needed his help now more than ever.

  "Then let's go."

Jihyeon spoke as they moved together to hide in the darkness and face their enemies.

Mu-yeong felt an ominous sensation. This was not a good sign. There was no scientific basis for it, but the intuition that had saved his life on the battlefield always spoke the truth.

Therefore, Mu-yeong trusted his gut once again. Whenever he felt anxious, he would look around, and every time, he had discovered a hidden danger.

But this time, he couldn't find it immediately. He could feel the threat approaching as clearly as if he were holding it in his hand, and the anxiety made his heart beat even more violently.

Yet, his senses could find nothing. At the very least, nothing was visible within his sight. A sniper has good eyes. And for one who uses a Tool of sniping, a blind spot practically does not exist.

Despite this, Mu-yeong could not find the threat coming for them. That fact made him even more frustrated.

"What is it?" Mu-yeong muttered, constantly looking in all directions.

At some point, he was turning his head left and right so frantically that he looked like a madman to others. He was so anxious that it looked like a compulsive obsession to find whatever was out there.

However, Mu-yeong had no leisure to worry about how others saw him. Perhaps due to the Tool's influence, his intuition had become extremely sensitive, but conversely, his anxiety had reached a level incomparable to that of an ordinary person.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

"Why are you turning your head like that?"

Ha-eun, who happened to come to Mu-yeong's location, felt suspicious of his behavior. But when he saw Mu-yeong heading outside, Ha-eun followed him without a word. Although he didn't like Mu-yeong, he knew the man wasn't one to waste time on nonsense. If he was acting like this, something was definitely happening.

Or perhaps, the one Ha-eun was waiting for had arrived. That person could hide his presence. Although he wouldn't know for sure until the enemy was close, Mu-yeong's intuition was reliable.

Ha-eun activated his Tool and headed outside.

"How close do you think they are?" Ha-eun asked, watching Mu-yeong continue to scan the surroundings.

"Damn it... they're close. Very close. On the edge... damn it! Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it!"

Mu-yeong didn't stop cursing. He was losing his mind to an uncontrollable anxiety. Something was bound to happen soon. But if he was this anxious and unable to communicate properly, that was a problem in itself.

Ha-eun was about to ask something else to calm him down.

  Thud.

There was no time to ask. Mu-yeong suddenly collapsed.

  "Wh-what?"

Ha-eun couldn't hide his bewilderment. Anyone would be shocked if a man who was just muttering suddenly fell over.

But there was no time to worry about Mu-yeong. Ha-eun almost lost consciousness from a powerful impact that struck him. If he hadn't activated his Tool in advance, he would have collapsed on the spot.

  "A sniper?"

Ha-eun muttered through gritted teeth. Several sniping Tools had already been released onto the market. He knew there were those who made money using them, and he had even caught someone playing such games before.

But this was a place where people rarely came, and there were no points from which a sniper could fire. To be struck like this made Ha-eun tense up.

"Damn it... there should be more Apostles here..."

Unfortunately, he was the only Apostle present at the moment. With Mu-yeong down, Ha-eun had to hold out alone until the others returned. But he wondered if that would even be possible.

  "Kh!"

Another impact hit him. This time, it was much stronger than before. The enemy targeting him was far more cunning than he had thought. They might continue to pour out attacks until he collapsed.

What could he say about that? He had to bite his lip, suppress his rage, judge as coldly as possible, and fight. Enduring, Ha-eun looked around.

However, Ha-eun forgot the resolve he had just made. He had no choice.

Ha-hyeon. His younger brother. And now, the man who considered him a mortal enemy was charging toward him.

Even though he was hiding himself with a mask, it was meaningless. Ha-eun wasn't such a fool that he wouldn't recognize Ha-hyeon's form. The moment he saw his brother, the emotions he had been suppressing exploded once more.

  Rage.

At the fact that his brother had neutralized Mu-yeong and attacked this place, he couldn't think of anything else.

  "You little bastard!"

A curse burst from Ha-eun's mouth. His emotions erupted without any pretense. And it was the same for his brother.

"What! You son of a bitch!"

Ha-hyeon shouted. It was the voice of someone who held no respect for his older brother.

The two ran toward each other with all their might. They had already experienced this once—they knew their strengths were equal. He didn't know how long they would have to fight.

But what did that matter? Only one common thought dominated both of them now: an endless hatred and hostility toward the other. Entrusting everything to that feeling, the two swung their fists at each other. It was the start of a fight with no foreseeable end.

Now, all that remained was to enter.

Jihyeon entrusted everything to Ha-hyeon and prepared for a frontal breakthrough. Fortunately, there were no more Tool users inside the building. But time was short. The Cult had far more Tool users than he had expected. While he could handle a one-on-one, a fight against many was not something even Jihyeon could manage easily.

He had to hurry. Faster than anyone, and as stealthily as possible.

Instead, he needed to leave a clear warning. While he wouldn't kill them, he would show them that they should not cross the line ever again.

But all of that would have to wait until after he rescued Min-ah. With that thought, Jihyeon used the Tool of High-Speed.

Instantly, the world began to move slowly. Not just the sounds, but everything around him moved in slow motion. But not him.

Jihyeon moved at a speed that others could not even perceive. He moved faster than anyone to find his target. Fortunately, when he entered the building, no one hindered him. In fact, they couldn't even recognize him properly. Seizing that opportunity, Jihyeon quickly located where Min-ah was being held.

Simply looking was enough. Determining where everything was and how it was laid out was never a difficult task for Jihyeon.

Of course, once he was inside, the people of the Cult finally began to react. But that meant nothing to Jihyeon. If there were no Tool users, there was no way to defeat him.

Jihyeon arrived at the room where Min-ah was held. Without any hesitation, he broke down the door.

"Min-ah? Are you there?" Jihyeon called her name carefully.

"You came," Min-ah replied with a slightly trembling voice.

Fortunately, she seemed unhurt, but seeing her hands and feet bound made Jihyeon feel a surge of rage once again. Nevertheless, now was not the time to prioritize his emotions. He had to rescue her and leave quickly. Jihyeon could only exert his full power once Min-ah's safety was guaranteed.

Of course, the same didn't apply to Ha-hyeon. For now, it was time to let him go wild as he desired.

"Yeah. Sorry I'm late. Let's get out of here."

Jihyeon spoke as he untied Min-ah's restraints. He looked around as they moved. Fortunately, there was no interference until they got outside. But Jihyeon couldn't leave immediately.

"My, my... I wondered who had stepped into our holy sanctuary with muddy feet, but it seems quite a big shot has arrived."

In front of Jihyeon stood a Tool user who hadn't been there just moments ago. Looking at him, Jihyeon could only let out a sigh.
