Mithril Resource Point, The White-Robed Priest on the Chariot

Speaking of which, the power system of the Turin Plane had many similarities with Wizard civilization.

It was also divided into two major categories: the Knight side and the Spellcaster side.

The Knight side similarly advanced step by step from Apprentice Knight, Knight, Grand Knight, to Legendary Knight.

Even the sub-realms were the same.

Only the Spellcaster side was different.

There were no Wizards in the Turin Plane, only Priests who served deities and spread their teachings.

Among them, an Apprentice Priest was equivalent to a Wizard Apprentice.

Further up, a White-Robed Priest was equivalent to a formal Wizard.

The power of a White-Robed Priest mainly came from the deity's favor.

Different favors resulted in varying strengths.

Based on strength and status within the church, White-Robed Priests were divided into six ranks from high to low, roughly corresponding to Rank 1 and Rank 2 Wizards.

The Turin team in front of them was just an escort for captives; naturally, there wouldn't be a White-Robed Priest accompanying them.

There wasn't even a single Apprentice Priest.

The overall strength of the team wasn't considered strong either.

Those infantrymen were only at the Knight level. Most of the armored cavalry were Grand Knights. Only the bearded man and two other knights possessed the strength of a Tier 1 Legendary Knight.

Through the Omniscient Eye, Pierce grasped the enemy's strength in an instant.

When the Giant Eagle swooped down to an altitude of a hundred meters, he suddenly raised his hand. In an instant, a dense barrage of Magic Missiles poured out.

As he advanced to Wizard, his control over mental power became more precise. The power and effect of First Circle spells in Pierce's hands far exceeded what they used to be.

Now, when he cast Magic Missile, the number of missiles in a single cast had skyrocketed to over fifty.

Coupled with Compound Casting, casting four Magic Missiles simultaneously, the number of missiles instantly exceeded two hundred. Like a torrent of bullets, they riddled the armored knights with holes.

Only the bearded knight leading them barely survived due to his stronger power, but he was also heavily injured, looking at Pierce in horror.

This scene directly stunned the remaining infantry and captives in place.

They couldn't have imagined that the powerful knights would be nearly wiped out by the newcomer in a single encounter!

It wasn't until they saw the white robe Pierce was wearing clearly that the captives suddenly showed ecstatic expressions.

  "It's a Lord Wizard!"

  "We're saved!"

Contrary to the captives' ecstasy, the Turins' faces instantly turned deathly pale.

Having fought with Wizard civilization for so long, they naturally knew what meeting a Wizard here meant.

That was an existence capable of contending with noble and powerful formal Priests.

Even if their entire team rushed up, they probably wouldn't be able to hurt a single hair on his head.

  "Split up and run!"

The bearded knight quickly recognized the situation, decisively gave the order, and then roared as he pounced toward Pierce.

  "A very wise choice."

A trace of admiration flashed in Pierce's eyes, and he immediately raised his hand.

  Acid Arrow x1!

  Magic Missile x3!

The highly corrosive acid arrow struck the bearded knight like lightning, breaking through the Elemental Power protecting his body without any hindrance, directly corroding a huge penetrating wound in his chest.

Through the wound, one could even see the ground behind him.

In an instant, the bearded knight felt his strength draining rapidly from the wound like a flood opening its gates, and weakness swept over him like a tide.

His legs gave way, and he knelt on the ground, slowly collapsing.

Before his consciousness fell into eternal darkness, the last thing he saw was his subordinates being slaughtered and falling to the ground by a dense barrage of Magic Missiles.

By the time Sophia and Payne jumped off the Giant Eagle's back, there wasn't a single Turin still standing on the wilderness.

The two looked at each other, somewhat helpless but already accustomed to it, and consciously began to clean up the battlefield and loot the spoils.

Passing by the group of captives, Payne casually cut the iron chains on their hands at Pierce's signal.

Recovering from the ecstasy of being saved, the captives cast awe-inspiring glances at Pierce one after another.

A burly man who seemed to be the leader stepped forward from the crowd and bowed respectfully to Pierce, "Thank you, my Lord, for saving our lives."

Pierce sized him up and then swept his gaze over the other captives.

The strength of these people wasn't considered strong. Except for the burly man who had a Legendary Knight-level physique, the rest were at most at the High-level Grand Knight standard.

"What happened to you guys?" Pierce asked lightly.

The burly man smiled bitterly, "Answering my Lord, we are from a mercenary group. We were originally recruited by several Lord Wizards to assist in guarding a mineral vein. But just yesterday, the Turins launched a surprise attack on the vein. Out of the five Lord Wizards, two died and three fled. Our mercenary group suffered heavy losses; everyone else is dead except for us captives."

Hearing this, Sophia and Payne couldn't help but look tense.

Although they had heard a lot about the dangers of the Planar Battlefield, hearing with their own ears that even powerful Wizards had died in battle still shocked them.

Pierce raised an eyebrow, thinking to himself that guarding resource points was indeed high reward and high risk.

"How far is that mineral vein from here?"

The burly man pointed in the direction they came from and said, "It's about eighty kilometers back from here."

Pierce unrolled the magic map and quickly found the corresponding resource point on it.

The information on it hadn't been updated yet, probably because the news hadn't reached Red Maple City.

But what surprised Pierce even more was that the resource point was actually a Mithril vein.

"No wonder there were five Wizards jointly guarding the resource point."

While understanding, Pierce was also somewhat tempted.

Mithril usually appeared as an associated substance in silver mines.

As an allotrope of silver, the value of Mithril far exceeded the latter.

It had amazing malleability and magic conductivity. Once refined, it would never fade, and its material properties were extremely stable. Magic items made of Mithril could be used for thousands of years without worrying about natural wear and tear.

When refining magic equipment, adding just a small amount of Mithril could significantly improve its quality.

In addition, Mithril could also be used to make metal golems or magical constructs.

It was said that the supreme masterpiece of golems, the Mithril Sage—which was even more powerful than the God-Flesh Golem—used Mithril as its main material.

Furthermore, building Wizard Towers and Floating Cities required a large amount of Mithril.

In floating rings, anti-gravity devices, elemental drive devices, and so on, Mithril was an indispensable rare material.

However, although Mithril was precious, it was very rare.

Associated Mithril ores often had low content and were very scattered. Emptying an entire silver vein might only yield about a dozen kilograms.

But even so, it was still an extremely huge profit.

Pierce remembered the exchange price for Mithril offered by Red Maple City was 2,300 Merit Points per kilogram.

This price was enough to drive many Wizards crazy.

Of course, the Turins would definitely go crazy too.

Mithril was quite useful to the Turins as well; they would inevitably spare no effort to seize this mineral vein.

Wanting to hold the mineral vein under the Turins' attacks was a very severe test for the defending Wizards.

"With the mineral vein captured, Red Maple City will likely issue a mission to retake the resource point next."

  Pierce's eyes flickered.

If he had enough strength at that time, perhaps he could try taking the mission.

If he could take down that Mithril vein, he basically wouldn't have to worry about the resources for breaking through to the Rank 1 Liquid Phase.

Recovering his thoughts, Pierce threw some stamina potions to the burly man and said lightly, "I can only help you this far. You have to walk back by yourselves next."

The burly man and the others immediately expressed their endless gratitude.

They certainly wouldn't expect a Wizard to personally escort them back.

Being rescued from the Turins and given stamina potions was already something they were extremely grateful for.

This small interlude didn't affect Pierce's plan. After Sophia and Payne finished cleaning up the battlefield, they got back on the Giant Eagles and continued their journey.

They didn't find much valuable loot on the Turins. These people didn't even have a spatial item; they only carried some dry rations and Turin Plane currency, which was useless to Pierce.

But this was normal; after all, it was just a squad of knights.

To get valuable loot, he would have to at least kill enemies at the level of a White-Robed Priest.

The Giant Eagles soared high in the sky, the strong wind howling past on both sides.

Pierce glanced at the magic map and gestured to Sophia and Payne behind him.

"There is a Turin outpost about ten kilometers ahead. Prepare for battle."

Hearing this, Sophia and Payne's spirits lifted, rubbing their fists and eager to try.

They didn't want to be Pierce's burden and wanted to take this opportunity to perform well.

A few minutes later, a cluster of low, undulating wooden cabins appeared in their vision.

These wooden cabins were built against a rock wall, and two towering watchtowers stood in the middle.

Soldiers stationed at the top of the towers noticed the three Giant Eagles from afar and immediately sounded the alarm bell.

  Clang! Clang! Clang!

The loud bell rang out quickly, and a large number of warriors rushed out of the wooden cabins, forming a formation rapidly.

Among them were also four or five young men wearing light gray sacrificial robes.

  "Five Apprentice Priests."

Pierce narrowed his eyes, not surprised.

For outposts like this, the main duty was to monitor the movements of the Red Maple City army on the battlefield and notify surrounding patrol chariots for encirclement when enemies were discovered. Naturally, it was impossible to have formal Priests stationed there.

Having five Apprentice Priests was already considered a strong garrison for this outpost.

The same was true for Legendary Knights; there were at most two or three Tier 1 Legendary Knights in the outpost.

So for missions like removing an outpost, usually one Wizard was enough, hence the reward wasn't high.

  Whoosh!

The sound of breaking air rang out.

More than ten spears shot straight into the sky like sharp arrows, intending to shoot down the Giant Eagles.

Unfortunately, the Giant Eagles were flying too high. By the time the spears reached them, they had lost most of their force and were easily swatted away by the Giant Eagles.

Seeing this, Pierce simply cast a Levitate spell on himself, leapt from the Giant Eagle's back, and plummeted toward the ground.

  "A Wizard!"

Watching this scene, the expressions of the Apprentice Priests in the crowd changed drastically.

  "It's these damn Wizards again!"

"Quickly notify the nearby patrol chariots!"

"Everyone, throw your spears! Bring that guy down!"

The outpost instantly fell into panic.

A few warriors turned around in horror and rushed into a stone house in the middle of the outpost.

More warriors raised their spears and scrambled to throw them at Pierce in the air.

  Swish! Swish! Swish!

Countless spears rained down on Pierce, but were blocked by the invisible Mage Armor. Even the ice cones released by a few Apprentice Priests were equally futile.

Pierce looked calmly at the crowd below. It wasn't until he was fifty or sixty meters from the ground that he suddenly raised his hand, and countless colorful rays of light shot out from his palm instantly.

These rays of light were colorful and ever-changing. Just looking at them made people feel dizzy, as if their vision had completely fallen into a colorful screen of light.

The group of Turin warriors immediately staggered and fell one after another.

The five Apprentice Priests also showed dazed expressions.

  Hypnotic Pattern!

It could cause a group of creatures who saw the colorful enchanting light to fall into a state of fascination.

It could be called an AoE version of Hypnotism.

Taking advantage of the Turins falling into chaos, Sophia and Payne steered their Giant Eagles to land on the ground and charged into the crowd like tigers into a flock of sheep, instantly stirring up a storm of blood.

By the time the Apprentice Priests came to their senses, what entered their vision was raging lightning and flames, and the church knights falling in swathes, turning into corpses.

At the same time, a red light shot rapidly into their vision.

  Scorching Ray!

The red light was so fast that the Apprentice Priests didn't have time to dodge at all and could only watch helplessly as it hit their chests.

  Crack!

The protective items on the five people shattered almost simultaneously. The faint light covering their bodies was instantly melted by the high temperature and intense heat.

In the next second, the five screamed as they were engulfed by raging flames, turning into ash in an instant.

With the five Apprentice Priests instantly killed, the surviving Turin warriors immediately lost their will to fight and fled in panic.

Unfortunately, they were either killed by Sophia and Payne or blasted by Magic Missiles coming from nowhere.

More than two minutes later, the Turins in the outpost were completely wiped out.

Including the few warriors who rushed into the stone house, who were also killed by Sophia.

The young girl then walked toward Pierce holding a statue.

"My Lord, I found this inside."

Pierce took it and took a look. The statue was only the size of a palm. The material was neither iron nor wood, and it was shaped like a female wearing a simple robe with a cold temperament and exquisite appearance.

It was exactly the deity worshipped by the Winter Frost Church—the Lady of Winter Frost!

Pierce faintly felt that there seemed to be some unknown energy hidden in this statue.

However, now was not the time to study this. He put away the statue and looked up into the distance.

At the edge of the sky far away, several black dots were approaching quickly.

If nothing unexpected happened, it should be the patrol chariots arriving after receiving the outpost's request for help.

"My Lord," Sophia showed an inquiring look.

Pierce said lightly, "We'll deal with the reinforcements before leaving."

A fully staffed patrol chariot was at least worth 20 Merit Points; he didn't plan to let them go.

Sophia and Payne had even fewer objections; they hadn't fought to their hearts' content just now.

After all, the troublesome Apprentice Priests and Legendary Knights had been dealt with by Pierce first.

As the distance closed, Sophia and Payne gradually saw the faces of the reinforcements clearly.

On the broad chariots made entirely of bronze stood twenty figures, including two priests in gray robes and eighteen fully armed, fierce-looking warriors.

Arrays were engraved on both sides of the chariot carriages, the patterns glowing faintly, generating light cyan wind vortexes that supported the heavy chariots to float in the air.

At the front of the chariots, two giant beasts that were a cross between horses and bulls, with wings on their backs, were pulling the chariots forward vigorously.

There were five such chariots in total.

On one of the chariots stood a man wearing a white sacrificial robe with two hexagonal snowflakes painted on the edges of both sleeves.

  Pierce's gaze narrowed slightly.

  A White-Robed Priest!

An otherworldly powerhouse capable of contending with a Wizard!
