Emilio woke up in the mattress that Tuor left in the Monolith room once again.
“I have to admit I left the mattress in as a joke. How did you even lose consciousness in the Energy Trial?” Tuor asked as soon as he saw Emilio was awake.
“Damn it, I failed the Trial at the last moment!”
“Again, it was the Energy Trial, you just had to assimilate the World Energy in a given time. This is supposed to be a talent test. How did you come out unconscious?”
Emilio explained what he did when he saw he was not going to assimilate all the Energy and Tuor started to look quite worried, but when he said how he lost consciousness, he just started laughing.
“Did you really blow yourself up?” Tuor asked in between laughs. He was trying to control himself, but couldn’t stop laughing.
“What? Did I explode? Did I do something wrong?” Emilio asked.
“Let me calm myself down a little,” Tour said while trying to control his laughter.
“I can’t believe I actually met someone who literally exploded while assimilating Energy! No one will believe me!”
“An explanation, please?”
“The blowing up thing was supposed to be something we say to scare children into not being reckless while assimilating Energy, not something that could actually happen! You should have passed out from the pain it caused long before it came to that result.”
Emilio only had to look at him like an idiot for him to realize what happened.
“Ohh, your Pain Reduction Skill. It makes sense. I guess you also Regenerated your Body and increased it with Focus Vitality.”
“I did. I wanted to have better results in the Trial.”
“You did nothing wrong given the nature of the Trial and that the System was going to fix any damage. But you shouldn’t do it again. We scare children because pushing oneself beyond the body capacity creates hidden wounds.
“Even with your Regeneration, you would just be decreasing your talent. Luckily, the System heals you in the Trial. But do not do that again.”

Emilio gulped when he heard the consequences of what he had been doing and marked it as something to never do again. “Thank you for explaining it. So, did I really explode then? I was about to get one extra point and I failed to maintain my focus. At least, I did get one extra point using this method.”
“How many points did you increase?”
“Five points and 32 Coins,” Emilio explained and suddenly turned pale.
“Congratulations on fulfilling your quest a week early. With the Free Stat points you will achieve 7 in all Stats,” Tuor said happily, but hesitated when he saw Emilio’s pale face. “What is wrong?”
“I lost the fucking chance of getting a Bloodline by a slip up of focus! Just a little bit more and I would have gotten an extra point! I would have been able to buy a Bloodline!” Emilio exclaimed, his face turning from pale white to angry red.
Tuor hadn’t even thought about that before, but he admitted he could empathize with the guy. To lose a chance at getting a Bloodline by a hair was harsh. “Apparently, you can also be unlucky, but you were pushing yourself above your real talent, so you didn’t lose anything.”
“I know, but it is still hard to have something like that slip through your fingers.”
“Why don’t you drown your sadness by purchasing something,” Tuor proposed, trying to cheer his friend up. “You will only be getting two more Coins at most, so now we do know your budget. What do you say about a fancy Space Ring?”
Emilio decided that it was best to not cry over spilt milk and ignore that he even had a possibility of getting a Bloodline. He focused on what Tuor said, and it was true he could buy some stuff.
“Space Ring? Is this what you used to bring out the furniture?” Emilio asked.
“Almost, I have a Space Bracelet, it has a bigger surface so it is easier to do. It can store things in another space, completely isolated.”
“Wow, that is impressive. How much is it worth? Should I buy it?”
“It is hard to know if you should buy it. It is something you can buy outside, but it is expensive even for a Rank 4. Even if it is not invaluable, it is something that you should not be getting anytime soon. The cost is 40 Coins. Given your Rank and that you are isolated, I have no idea if I have to consider it cheap or expensive.”
“It is impressive on its own and I might get it. Are there any other nice things available? I have 95 Coins in total.”
Tuor spent a few minutes looking for possible trades.
“Let me be sure, what is your priority? Getting stronger yourself, taking care of your world or something else?”
Emilio thought for a little while before answering.
“My highest priority is my family in the short and long term. After that, is the planet.”
“Then I should consider that you need to have enough power in the short term to wait until we can reach you. This is the best way to assure your family’s future because no matter what happens you will be welcomed with open hands by my clan and I can make that decision on my own.”
“What about the rest of the planet?”
“It’s not your priority, you will take care of it if you can, as you are doing, but you shouldn’t spend your Coins on something that is not your priority.”
