Chapter 6. Stats.

“What the… another tip?” Tour was surprised, but did not complain. “Thank you very much! If it is like this, I really have to work. Let’s get to another, what did you call it? Infodump.”

“Please, keep in mind I have actually no clue of what is going on. Any information you can give me will be useful,” Emilio explained.

“Right, your planet is quite particular, even for an unintegrated planet and I almost forgot I have to tell you all the basics.

“Let’s start with the System. It is something universal, it reaches everywhere, all the time. Some think it is a God, some that it is the Realm itself, some that is just part of nature. It can react to whatever you do or say and it can sometimes ask for inputs from you. Just consider it part of your life from now on.

“It will sometimes give Quests that are really worth it for the rewards and you might have special events like these Trials right here. My presence here is an opportunity I got as a Quest reward. It is quite a valuable chance as I can get some valuable stuff from the commissions I get. Well, and now tips too.

“The rewards I can get are important, but there is nothing really valuable. After all, I only have to attend to a few hundred people in the Monolith. Either way, it is a good Quest reward for me.”

“Only a few hundred? Does that mean that there are tens of millions of Shopkeepers attending Earth right now?” Emilio interceded.

“Excuse me? Tens of millions? How many people does your planet have? And how do you know an accurate number without World Energy?” Tuor was stumped.

“Umm, billions? I don’t know the exact number but I can bring it back next time if you want. As for how I know. I guess I can search for it on the internet.” Emilio answered, but as he watched the man in front of him, who was obviously not from Earth, he realized the man had no idea of what he was talking about. “Given your face, you have no idea what I am talking about. It is a technological network of information.”

Even if Emilio kept giving details, Tuor was still as confused, “Oh, no. Your face says that you still don’t understand anything. Please tell me there is some kind of technology in the place you came from.”

Tuor gave some thought to what Emilio said and raised an eyebrow with his interest piqued. “You said billions, right? With an information network… and what did you call the other thing? ‘Technology’? Now I am curious, can I ask what is going on on your planet?”

Emilio looked at the curious alien and decided that if he wanted to get the best service out of him, he might as well give him some information. After a really brief introduction of the state of the planet Tuor was even more surprised.

“Wow, unifying the world without World Energy, that's awsome. I might want to visit Earth for real in the future if you succeed in the integration by yourself, even if you don’t I might have to convince my clan of your worth,” Tour commented.

“Wait what? By ourselves? Our worth? What the hell is going on??” Emilio asked.

“Ok that was borderline Realm information. I will try to tell you as much as I can without you buying the System information pack, but it won’t be too much. The Realm is not as safe of a place as your planet. I may have underestimated your safety when I told you to buy the Pill, but even then to have a Healing Pill is good.

“Your planet is being integrated by the System, which means that it will slowly be upgraded. That also means that it will be bigger, and more dangerous. At the same time, the System will test all of the people on the planet, both individually and collectively, to see if you are worthy of growing strong by yourselves. If you are not, your planet will be contended for between other forces. I can’t talk any more about these forces.

“My advice here is for you to become as strong as you can and bring together a group of strong people under you. It would be better to unite the whole planet under you, but with 7 or 8 billion people, it is just not possible.

“Your talent seems high enough for now as raising 4 points in one Trial is quite good. If I were you, I would gather people with talent. That way, even if your planet fails the Trial you might be recruited to a force on your own terms with your family.”

Emilio gulped as he heard what the man was telling him. He knew there was something wrong when the System gave all of the people in the world a chance to get a weapon. But even like that, this seemed more dangerous than what he expected.

“Is it really that bad? Are we not going to be able to solve these tests with our technology?” Emilio asked seriously.

“The System won’t allow it,” Tuor stated. “Just become as strong as you can and take all the opportunities you have. You will have plenty of unique opportunities as a member from an integrated planet because the System is looking for new talents.

“There is not much more I can say with regards to this subject. I’m sorry, but I am restricted. Do you want me to continue with the System information you purchased?”

Emilio took a deep breath and he focused even more than before. Up until this point he was not that worried about the System. He was worried about Amelia, but once Tuor confirmed she was fine, he had no worries.

He was actually just happy about his new Vitality, but things had changed. He would have to pass some trials, not only him, but the whole planet. And the consequences of failing was some kind of invasion.

If it was like that, he was going to fight with all of what he could get. And that started by paying attention to the information he was receiving. “Yes please, The more details, the better.”

“The main thing you should take notice of are your Stats. Some races are different, but for humanoids they are usually Body, Vitality, Mind and Energy.

“Body has to do with your physical body, your strength, dexterity and physical resilience.

“Vitality has to do with endurance, healing and longevity. This last one is one of the big reasons most people want to improve their Rank. The higher your Rank and Vitality the longer you can live.

“Mind has to do with your thinking ability, your consciousness and even your soul.

“Energy is your control and storage of World Energy. As far as I know, before the integration your world had none, but the moment the integration started that must have changed.”

With this explanation, Emilio was finally able to know what each Stat meant. For the most part, they were what he expected, but there were also some surprises in there he was going to have to address.
