Tamar was struggling.
With one-tenth of her power sealed, she was fighting a formidable opponent.
Her enemy was a stone golem created by Thoth.
The giant stood three meters tall and possessed a solid granite body.
Its strength and speed were formidable, and its defense was high, making the
fight difficult for Tamar.
Normally, she would have crushed it by binding it with massive vines and
shattering it with pressure, but with her restricted power, that was
impossible.
Each time the stone giant launched an attack, the ground shattered and stones
flew upward, leaving Tamar busy evading.
Realizing she was outmatched tactically, she decided to retreat for the
moment.
She moved vines to climb a tree and hid among the branches.
While the giant, having lost sight of her, looked around, Tamar devised a trap.
After completing her scheme, she created a scarecrow resembling herself to lure
the monster.
When the scarecrow, mimicking Tamar’s appearance and movements, provoked it,
the giant charged swiftly.
Thud!
The place where the scarecrow had stood had been turned into a swamp by
Tamar.
The giant’s entire body sank into the mire, and it began to struggle.
Descending from the tree, Tamar grinned.
“Combining the elements of earth and water lets me use some pretty strange
techniques. But this alone isn’t enough to finish it…”
As the monster slowly dragged itself out of the swamp, Tamar focused her
power and created a tree monster.
It was equal in height to the stone giant and had a hardened, dried appearance.
When the stone giant finally escaped the swamp and charged, the tree monster
met it head-on.
Each time the stone giant struck, the tree creature’s body shattered,
fragments scattering in all directions.
After a brutal melee, the tree was ultimately reduced to splinters.
Tamar smiled.

“But… did you know that tree has an enormous number of seeds?”
The tree’s seeds had slipped into the cracks and crevices of the stone
giant’s fractured body.
When Tamar sent her power into them, the seeds grew explosively.
From within the cracks, trees sprouted instantly.
Under the fierce vitality of the wood, the monster’s body split apart.
Crash!
The shattered stone giant dropped its broken pieces to the ground one by
one.
Wiping sweat from her brow, Tamar spoke.
“Whew. You really make it difficult, Master.”
Thoth often reduced Tamar’s power and assigned her the task of continuously
fighting powerful enemies.
“Water and sprouts are weak, yet they break stone. It is important to learn
how to win while weak.”
Just then, Ella returned from the village.
She regularly went there to purchase food and daily necessities.
Thoth, who detested meat and beer, shook his head and left at the sight of
them.
“Wow, looks like it was tough again today, Tamar.”
Tamar lifted the bottle of beer Ella had brought and gulped it down.
“Ah, that’s the taste. Dried meat again? Hand it over first.”
The two spread out the food and began a simple meal.
Tamar glanced sideways and said,
“Eat up. It’s your turn this time.”
“What, did he make a new monster?”
“Well, well. Look at you, acting relaxed now?”
Ella gazed at the lush leaves of the giant trees swaying in the wind.
The unnaturally beautiful scenery had now become familiar and comforting.
“Tamar, can I ask you something?”
“What is it?”
“How did you grow up? What was your father like?”
“You’ve heard it before. We were raised as hunters from the start. My
father? He was just an ordinary man. A kind and gentle father.”
Ella spoke in a slightly more serious tone.
“Mm… do you like what you’re doing now?”
Tamar narrowed her eyes.
“Do I look like someone that deep? I was born with power, and my father
decided the direction and purpose of how to use it. That’s all. Do I like it? I
don’t dislike it. That’s the whole reason I do this.”
Drawing her knees together and resting her face on them, Ella continued.
“I was a slave. My family was massacred. There was nothing I could decide
for myself. If your father showed you how to live and what direction to take,
then for me… that’s you all.”
Tamar narrowed her eyes further.
“You brat, are you trying to subtly skip training today? Today it’s a
thorn-vine monster, so you’d better prepare yourself.”
Ella grinned, drew Thoth’s twin swords, and prepared for battle.
