Ah yes, the classic anime trope of isekai.

  The iconic throne room, with a bunch of hero candidates and magicians.

  One by one, they received skills. One of them got Walmart Deus Ex Machina for god’s sake.

  Which left me being the victim of another anime trope.

  Let me explain from the beginning.

  My name is Chion. My parents thought it sounded Asian, so they picked this stupid name.

  And I’ve been summoned to another world to defeat the Demon King. I think.

  I was a 15 year old high school student (classic) who liked reading manga (another staple of isekai protagonists).

  Right now, everyone else had received their overpowered abilities, so it was my turn.

  Most people would be excited, but I was in sheer and utter terror. Why? Because of the ‘Underpowered Ability’ trope. There’s always one.

  My ability was [Sewing EX]. Just what I needed. Being a tailor.

  In five seconds, I was kicked out into a forest full of monsters. I guess they expect me to die here. Unluckily for them, I’m quite experienced in these things.

  Because of my Anime addiction, I had spent quite a long time training in Kendo and Japanese Swordsmanship. I was quite confident in my ability to do an Iai draw.

  I decided to check out my ability first.

  This wouldn’t seem powerful to most people, but my eyes lit up.

  In a particular manga I had enjoyed on Earth, a spy used thin iron threads as an incredibly powerful weapon. I could go on that same path as well!

  Firstly, I created some metal and cotton threads and imagined them forming a robe. It worked wonderfully. I was now the proud owner of a sword-proof robe armour. It didn’t have a single seam, almost as if it was woven by an expert.

  Could I make other things as well? I tried making a katana using threads of Chronium (more commonly known as stainless steel). It cut pretty well. A tree I tap just fell down. Maybe the threads’ properties were enhanced in some way?

  I tried making a scabbard as well, but I suddenly fainted when I tried making more threads.

  I woke up a bit later. I assumed the cause was having no more MP left. Which honestly made sense. An ability as strong as this would clearly have drawbacks.

  I made a blanket with cotton and slept for the day.
