[Lily POV]

  I took a deep breath, I was nervous about telling her. But I feel like she needs to know, the st person I confided in was Gale. He stumbled into me one day trying to find his way around the base wondering where everyone was. Only ter did he find out that they were all avoiding me, the look on his face when he realized it was a sight I will never forget. Unfortunately, he got beled a demon because he came to visit me as thanks for helping, but his sparring matches solidified his title. Gale continued to see me when he had time and eventually I shed my mask and told him. But, I've only known Kim for a while, and in that brief time, she hasn't seen me as the mad scientist I portray myself as. I've even seen her gre at the people who called me a witch. I asked Gale if I should tell them, and he said I should but he would handle telling Ivan and Jill.

  "When the Shift appeared I had a violent awakening."(Lily)

  Kim looked at me with concern on her face. She reached her hand to my shoulder, I didn't notice my body shaking.

  "Lily you don't have to tell me."(Kim)

  "I want you to know. Exhale, I was working in a hospital at the time, and when the patient I was checking up on fell out of bed I tried to reach out to them only for their back to explode. I can't remember much of what happened next because of all the chaos, but when I looked around the hospital was destroyed and covered in blood. The only thing that didn't have blood on it was me when the first responders showed up. I was lucky they weren't trigger-happy, after some time the government decided my medical skills could be better used on one of the bases, and I was assigned here."(Lily)

  Gale may have helped me start to get over this but I still have difficulty discussing it. I'm grateful Gale said he would tell Jill and Ivan.

  "I'm sorry that happened to you but that doesn't expin why everyone fears you. Unless..."(Kim)

  I could hear her piecing it together.

  "As you can guess when I was sent here someone found out what happened at the hospital and spread the news. People hated me at first, taking every opportunity to make my life harder. Until one day I exploded and injured some of my tormenters, soon after they feared me. I decided I would py the part if they wanted an evil monster. And it worked, for most I'm a witch who loves to experiment with life, but it gets lonely."(Lily)

  Kim seemed to be having difficulty maintaining her form because I could already see her eyes changing. From what I know Kim has been able to transform at will since Jill arrived, but she had changed before when her anger became too strong. I smiled a little knowing my friend would get angry on my behalf, but I should calm her down.

  "Don't worry. it has been a long time since then because I met Gale soon after. Hehe, He was utterly lost in the base when I found him. After spotting me he ran up and asked for directions. The rest is history."(Lily)

  I could feel my grin widen while reminiscing about my first meeting with Gale. Suddenly the door to my b shot open and Jill rushed to Kim's side.

  "Lily, where are they?! Who made my Kim angry?!"(Jill)

  Jill pulled Kim closer to her chest without thinking and I could see Kim's face turning crimson.

  "Jill calm down Kim is about to pass out if you keep that up."(Lily)

  Jill looked down to see Kim's face turning blue in her cleavage, and she started to panic. Jill then started to shake Kim.

  "Kim I'm sorry, please wake up!"(Jill)

  "Cough cough. I'm fine so you can let go now."(Kim)

  "No."(Jill)

  Seeing Kim was ok Jill pulled Kim into a proper hug. Now that she was a little calmer I decided to speak up.

  "Sorry Jill, Kim got mad because I told her a story."(Lily)

  We had a small recap until Gale showed up. Jill had run halfway across the base and left him behind. Seeing him out of breath reminded me of the first time I saw him.

  "There you are. Why did you run out so fast?"(Gale)

  "Hi, Gale. I felt Kim needed me so I ran as fast as possible."(Jill)

  Gale just let out a long sigh, when I noticed he had a folder under his arm.

  "What is that under your arm?"(Lily)

  "Oh, this. One of the officers handed it to me as I was chasing Jill. He said something about orders, but I can open it with you here."(Gale)

  Gale then opened the folder to see what was written down, while reading he got an annoyed look. Once he was done he closed it and set it on the table.

  "How bad is it?"(Lily)

  "The Chief said that we need to have one of the other departments support the expedition for it to be approved."(Gale)

  "Well, that is going to be a problem. I doubt anyone will want to go on an expedition I brought up."(Lily)

  "I can see if Ivan can help since he isn't as infamous as us."(Gale)

  Kim seeing this decided to ask what was going on, while Jill was hanging on her arm.

  "What expedition?"(Kim)

  "The one we pnned to take for you to get to the Shift."(Gale)

  I quickly pulled out a notepad from my b coat along with a pen.

  "That reminds me! Do you still feel it calling to you?!"(Lily)

  Kim stiffened up at me shouting before nodding.

  "Have you felt it the whole time?"(Lily)

  "Yes."(Kim)

  I quickly wrote down the questions I asked as well as the responses she gave. Then the page I was on was filled with theories I was coming up with as I pondered the new information.

  "And you said Jill can't feel the call."(Lily)

  "Correct."(Kim)

  "Jill also said you're her's right?"(Lily)

  "Yes."(Kim)

  At this point, I stopped asking questions to let Kim realize what she just said, and the reaction was worth the wait. Jill pulled Kim into a bigger hug while Kim's face looked like it was catching fire.

  "I never did get the rest of the story behind the confession."(Lily)

  I could feel myself having the smuggest grin on my face.

  "And you never will!"(Kim)

  I asked a few more appropriate questions before we decided to rex for the rest of the day and go to bed.

  [Boss POV]

  I'm currently sitting in my office receiving a report on how my pn was going.

  "Were you able to get the stipution on the witch's little expedition?"(Boss)

  "Yes sir! I even delivered the order to Gale myself."(underling)

  "Good. We can see how important this endeavor is to them soon. But in the meantime I want you to make sure that we are the ones that support this expedition"(Boss)

  "Will do sir!"(underling)

  "You're dismissed."(Boss)

  After he left I leaned back in my chair to think about the prospects of this scheme.
