“No need to worry. I’ve already set up a formation to keep Shen Xian’er asleep. She won’t know a thing,” Han Luo said, sitting leisurely on a stone bench beneath the phoenix tree, sipping his tea. His gaze rested on Xiao Bai, whose feline face was filled with cautious hostility.
“You shouldn't be getting involved with Xian’er,” Xiao Bai spoke, her voice unexpectedly that of a woman’s.
Han Luo glanced at her, completely unfazed. “And what does that have to do with you?”
“Say that again,” Xiao Bai growled, her small, delicate face twisting into something fierce, like a primordial beast trying to intimidate its prey.
Han Luo , still as calm as ever, took another sip of tea and smirked. “You better not keep making that adorably fierce expression, or I might not be able to resist petting you.”
Xiao Bai was momentarily speechless.
“Han Luo , you are not worthy of being near Xian’er,” she declared coldly. “Compared to her talent, you are nothing. Stay away from her—it’ll be better for you.”
“My talent?” Han Luo chuckled, looking down at his own hand. “I don’t even know how strong I really am. What makes you think you do?”
It was true. Despite possessing a supreme-grade spiritual root, he had never seriously cultivated. Even so, his strength seemed to grow effortlessly, like a plant thriving in fertile soil. If he actually trained properly, he wasn’t sure even he could handle the results.
“You don’t know? Fine, I’ll tell you,” Xiao Bai scoffed. “You’ve been in Luoxian Sect for three years, yet you’re still at Qi Refinement Stage One. If that doesn’t prove your mediocrity, what does?”
“You might be right about that,” Han Luo admitted with a shrug. “So what?”
“Then leave Xian’er alone,” she demanded. “She needs protection, not someone who needs her protection.”
Han Luo smiled faintly. “And what if I don’t?”
A heavy silence followed.
“…Don’t force my hand,” Xiao Bai finally said, her sharp claws gleaming under the moonlight. “You may be a disciple of Luoxian Sect, but if I decide to teach you a lesson, no one will say anything.”
Han Luo let out a short laugh, unimpressed. “I hate being threatened. And besides, you’re just a Qi Refinement Stage Three little white cat.”
As he spoke, he casually lifted two fingers… and snapped them down.
Xiao Bai tensed, instinctively preparing for an attack.
But nothing happened.
“Hahaha! Just messing with you,” Han Luo burst into laughter, enjoying himself immensely.
“You’re courting death!” Xiao Bai roared.
With a whoosh, she transformed into a streak of white light and lunged straight at his face.
Yet Han Luo remained completely still, still drinking his tea, making no attempt to dodge.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Her razor-sharp claws slashed down, aiming to scar that infuriatingly smug face—
Clang!
A metallic echo rang out as if she had struck solid steel.
Xiao Bai's eyes widened in disbelief.
What…?
She struck again, claws flashing through the air like white lightning.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Each strike bounced off an invisible barrier, producing a sharp, ringing sound.
The space around Han Luo rippled like the surface of a calm lake, revealing an imperceptible shield—one that completely nullified her attacks.
But that wasn’t the worst part.
Before she even realized it…
She was no longer outside.
The world around her had changed.
She now stood inside a stark white prison, utterly featureless except for a single half-meter-high mirror with an ancient bronze frame standing before her.
Her ears flattened. “When did this happen?”
She hadn’t even noticed being trapped.
Yet here she was—sealed away.
On the other side of the mirror, Han Luo smirked at her through the glass.
“Welcome,” he said, tapping the mirror.
This was one of the abilities of his Bronze Treasure Mirror—Mirror Prison.
Deep within the Mirror Realm, he had prepared special confinement cells, reinforced by temporal barriers.
Even a Nascent Soul cultivator wouldn’t be able to break free.
Of course, he doubted his Bronze Mirror was capable of capturing anyone that powerful—at least not yet.
But for now?
It was perfect for catching overconfident little white cats.
“Alright, Xiao Bai,” Han Luo said, lazily cracking his knuckles. “From now on, you’ll answer my questions. If you refuse…”
He snapped his fingers.
Instantly, the walls of the Mirror Prison became covered with countless explosive talismans, densely packed together like a minefield.
“Then I’ll just set off ten thousand of these bad boys,” he finished with a wicked grin.
Xiao Bai’s pupils contracted sharply.
“…You’re playing with fire.”
As she spoke, a golden character appeared on her forehead meaning “King.”
A powerful, regal aura surged from her body, making her seem more like a mighty tiger than a mere cat.
But Han Luo simply shrugged.
“I told you—I don’t like being threatened. And since you’re just a cat, I really don’t like being threatened by you.”
Reaching into his sleeve, he pulled out—
A cat teaser wand.
Xiao Bai froze.
Han Luo ’s smirk deepened. “Hehehe… Xiao Bai, don’t blame me for this. You brought this upon yourself.”
With that, he twitched the wand.
And then—
“…W-What’s happening? Why can’t I control my body!?” Xiao Bai’s voice cracked in horror.
Her limbs moved on their own, instinctively swiping at the fluffy toy, batting at it like an actual house cat.
She pawed at the mirror, ears twitching, tail flicking, eyes locked onto the toy with laser focus.
Her dignity shattered instantly.
“STOP IT! YOU—YOU DESPICABLE HUMAN!” she shrieked, struggling against her own body.
Han Luo grinned like a devil.
“Who’s threatening who now, huh?” he teased, flicking the wand again.
“No—No, wait! This isn’t—Agh! Damn it, stop moving, paws! STOP MOVING!” Xiao Bai desperately fought against her instincts, but the more she struggled, the more fun it felt.
Her pride cracked like thin ice.
“You still wanna threaten me?” Han Luo asked, twirling the teaser like a villain twirling his mustache.
Xiao Bai lost it.
“STOP! STOP IT RIGHT NOW!”
“Not until you swear you won’t harm Xian’er or me,” Han Luo declared. “Also, if you tell anyone about what happened tonight, I’ll personally give Xian’er this toy—and trust me, that girl will never stop playing with you.”
Xiao Bai shuddered violently.
She… she could already see it.
A hyperactive Shen Xian’er waving the toy around relentlessly…
Forever.
Tears of humiliation welled in her golden eyes. “FINE! I swear!”
The oath took effect immediately, binding her to the laws of the world.
Han Luo grinned and finally released her.
The moment she reappeared, she lunged at him—only to be met with an impenetrable barrier.
BANG!
Xiao Bai bounced off like a rubber ball, tumbling back onto the ground.
She groaned, clutching her bruised nose.
Then she looked up, stunned.
“…Wait. Qi Refinement Stage Seven?!”
Han Luo blinked. “Huh? I broke through?”
He clenched his fist. Yep. Definitely Qi Refinement Stage Seven.
“…When did that happen?”
Xiao Bai: …
Meanwhile, Han Luo cracked his knuckles with a mischievous grin.
“You tried to scratch me, huh? Well, well… looks like it’s time to pet the cat.”
Xiao Bai’s ears flattened in horror.
“W-Wait! What are you—STAY AWAY FROM ME!”
A shadow lunged forward.
And then—
Throughout Luoxian Mountain, a desperate feline’s helpless cries echoed into the night.
