Chapter 36 | Leveling Up Attributes

The holiday break went by quickly; before long, three days had passed, taking a significant portion of the vacation with them.

With the help of her ever-reliable assistant, Dionysius, Xanthia efficiently completed the limited-time event tasks and emptied the reward pool.

She thoroughly enjoyed the excitement of getting things for free, and the challenge missions were completed with remarkable ease.

The most important part was that Dionysius was more than willing to help her out. She graciously gave him the chance to assist, and he was genuinely grateful for it.

Dionysius was undoubtedly pleased with Xanthia’s newfound approach to life.

The once-introverted, socially anxious, and overly sensitive girl had left him baffled in the past, unsure how to help or please her. Frequently rejected and pushed away, he sometimes found himself affected by her negativity, which left him feeling down.

But the current Xanthia? She had completely transformed. She even confided in Dionysius, saying her life was her own, long and full of potential, and that she wouldn’t let certain "scumbags" affect her anymore. From now on, she decred, she only wanted to live happily.

Dionysius deeply admired her positive outlook. The old Xanthia seemed trapped in a cycle of isotion and self-pity, but now she exuded confidence and crity.

Encouraged by her transformation, Dionysius tentatively suggested she join the Papadopoulos familia gatherings. He reasoned that since she now had such a clear perspective, embracing her role as the eldest daughter of the familia could bring her even more happiness.

However, Xanthia ftly refused. She stated that, among the entire Papadopoulos familia, only Dionysius had her approval. The rest weren’t worth her time.

She particurly avoided their father, Demetrios. She didn’t want to see him at all and hoped to never cross paths with him again.

Dionysius had no choice but to comfort himself with the thought that at least she accepted him. As her "brother," he resolved to keep working hard to support her.

Still, the three days he spent with Xanthia, putting aside other commitments, had been rexing. Her joy was infectious, and time spent with a carefree Xanthia meant he was never short of happiness either.

That said, he was slightly puzzled by her obsession with the dance machine. She was, frankly, terrible at it—her movements stiff and awkward.

Once, he couldn’t hold back and teased her about it. Xanthia scoffed, "Precisely because I’m bad at it, I need to practice more. I’m training to dance! Once I'm good at it, I’ll dominate the dance competitions!"

Dionysius was left speechless, silently thinking that if she truly wanted to learn how to dance, she should probably hire a professional instructor. Practicing on a dance machine seemed entirely ineffective.

Oh well, she was the "big sister," and elder sisters were always right. Brothers had to yield.

Putting aside her dancing, Dionysius was pleasantly surprised to discover that Xanthia had quite a knack for singing.

Music happened to be his personal hobby.

Having learned the piano and guitar at a young age out of interest, he maintained his skills with a sustained passion. Even now, he often pyed for his own enjoyment.

He even had an account on a popur music-sharing ptform where he posted piano videos. However, they didn’t gain much attention.

The piano section on the ptform was notoriously competitive. Without showing your face, cospying, or having a standout appearance, it was almost impossible to outshine the gmorous performers dominating the space, no matter how skilled you were.

Surely, no one believed people went to the piano section purely for the music, right?

Dionysius, however, was there purely for fun and didn’t care about popurity.

During his school years, his musical talent earned him the admiration of many girls.

Having a skill like pying an instrument was a significant advantage as a student.

For example, Evelonia La Melodia from his middle school still remembered him vividly. They once colborated on a school event, where he accompanied her fwless singing on the piano. Evelonia had been the star of the night, envied by many.

To Evelonia, that evening was the highlight of her youth. Not attending the same high school as Dionysius had made her ter school years feel dull in comparison.

Dionysius, however, thought little of it. He had only participated because someone had to fill the role. While school events were tedious to him, everyone knew how skilled he was at the piano, so he was constantly roped into them.

Despite his talent for pying instruments, Dionysius had little interest in singing. At karaoke gatherings, he would typically lounge on the sofa, listen to others sing off-key, or py on his phone if bored. No one dared to question his behavior.

That said, he enjoyed listening to music. A good song and a pleasant voice could easily lift his spirits.

Dionysius discovered Xanthia’s singing talent during their outings when she dragged him to karaoke to “practice singing.”

He didn’t sing a single note, opting instead to munch on fruit ptters and skewers, drink beverages, and scroll through his phone—happily pying the role of a human ATM without compint.

Xanthia was efficient with her time, completing her event tasks while also grinding her “singing” attribute. With her dancing attribute nearing Level 2 (Proficient), it would’ve been embarrassing to leave her singing at Level 1 (Beginner).

Like many gamers, Xanthia had a completionist streak. She felt compelled to grind her singing attribute to Level 2. However, she was reluctant to spend her happy points to level it up directly. Grinding it herself felt more rewarding.

The system hinted that karaoke sessions yielded the most experience for leveling her singing skill. Karaoke was clearly an excellent "farming spot," albeit a bit expensive.

Expensive? Not when she wasn’t paying! Grinding was the way to go.

That said, Xanthia didn’t exploit Dionysius’s generosity without appreciation. She kept his kindness in mind, confident that she’d find a way to repay him once her skills were leveled up.

Besides, spending money brought its own form of joy. It was a fair trade. Did the mighty Dionysius really care about such trivial expenses?

Dionysius didn’t mind at all. In fact, he preferred listening to her sing over watching her awkwardly dance. It was genuinely pleasant.

  Her improvement was noticeable too!

"Xanthia, if you enjoy singing this much, I’ll arrange for someone to help you produce an album. You really have talent," Dionysius said earnestly.

In their world, it wasn’t uncommon for wealthy young women to dabble in music and release albums for fun. Even in the old world, hadn’t royal families done the same? Though, some of their musical endeavors were famously disastrous…
