Chapter 34 | Enjoy The Food

To be honest, Dionysius, observing the scene before him, felt a little upset.

There was nothing he could do. Xanthia, the former socially withdrawn girl, remained resistant to the Papadopoulos familia, showing no intention of engaging with them.

Dionysius always tried to maintain a gentle and patient demeanor, hoping to improve retions among the familia members. However, his efforts were consistently met with distance and rejection.

Human hearts are not made of stone. After being rebuffed so many times, he sometimes felt discouraged and couldn't help but question whether it was worth continuing.

But whenever he thought about the irresponsibility of his father and the unreliability of his mother, his resolve strengthened.

The girl named Xanthia no longer had anyone in the familia she could rely on.

If he, as her "brother," didn't take responsibility, what kind of man would he be? Could he even call himself a brother?

The mistakes of the past couldn't be undone, but the present and the future were still within his control.

Xanthia herself might not have realized that her presence drove Dionysius, who naturally had a strong sense of responsibility, to push himself even harder. He became more disciplined and honed his skills.

His ambitions for power and wealth intensified because he understood that only by becoming stronger could he truly protect her.

Even so, he kept his ambitions hidden, though his excellence was undeniable.

This ability to excel earned him the favor of his grandfather, Nikos El Papadopoulos, giving him a ticket to the "inheritance battle" of the familia conglomerate—a dynamic reminiscent of an American TV drama.

Dionysius was adept at adjusting his mood. Quickly brushing aside his frustration, he approached Xanthia and her group with a warm smile.

In reality, Dionysius had a temper. When he got angry, he could be quite intimidating. Those who had witnessed his outbursts were often left shaken.

Ironically, he always appeared gentle and humble, projecting a two-faced persona. Those aware of his dual nature found him even more enigmatic.

Dionysius didn't address Xanthia directly, genuinely afraid of scaring her off. Instead, he smiled at Marcus and said, "Marcus, as promised, I've come to 'crash' your meal. Am I welcome?"

Marcus grinned. "Of course, we welcome you. Many people have tried to treat Brother Dionysius to a meal but never got the chance!"

Marcus then introduced two other friends, and Dionysius greeted them warmly, making them feel at ease.

Leon and Miguel were quickly impressed by Dionysius. His social skills far surpassed those of the arrogant and entitled heirs they had encountered.

Speaking of social skills, their thoughts shifted to Xanthia. Despite her seemingly delicate appearance, they felt she was even more approachable and down-to-earth than Dionysius.

After all, Xanthia wasn't truly a privileged young dy, only holding the title without the associated status.

When Xanthia saw Dionysius arrive, she immediately assessed the situation. Initially, she had thought Marcus was a na?ve rich boy, but she now realized she was freeloading successfully thanks to Dionysius's presence.

If this had been the old her, she would have stormed off, avoiding any association with him.

However, the current Xanthia had grown thicker skin and learned to find excuses. Adopting a certain mentality, she had even considered extracting compensation from Demetrios but hadn't found the opportunity.

Now that Dionysius had taken the initiative to approach, she decided to use him to her advantage, boldly exploiting the situation as a means to settle the debts of her former self.

After some mental preparation, Xanthia felt calm and composed.

As Dionysius greeted the boys, he kept Xanthia within his peripheral vision and was pleased to see she hadn't distanced herself.

Today, his decision to "crash" this meal had been a wise one.

"Alright, let’s go inside and sit down to eat and chat. We can’t let the Miss go hungry," Marcus said politely.

However, he felt a bit puzzled. He had expected Dionysius and Xanthia to be happy upon meeting. After all, Dionysius was a "sistercon," and what sister wouldn't like having such a brother?

Yet the unspoken barrier between them left Marcus feeling uneasy and curious. He was tempted to dig deeper.

The five of them entered the restaurant and found a table. The ambiance of the charcoal barbecue restaurant was quite pleasant. Marcus couldn't resist complimenting Xanthia on her good taste and hoped she would recommend more pces in the future.

Xanthia sat down first, and the empty seat beside her was quietly taken by Dionysius. He said nothing, but inwardly, he was thrilled—this time, his sister hadn’t rejected him!

Opposite them, Marcus and the others settled into their seats. The long table was spacious enough to accommodate them comfortably.

Naturally, the task of ordering food fell to Xanthia. This was the privilege of being a girl, while the men were there to pay.

Xanthia, however, was considerate. After selecting her favorites, she asked what the others wanted.

"Dionysius, what do you like to eat?" she asked, not excluding him.

Dionysius, expecting to be ignored, was surprised and delighted.

"I’ll have an extra portion of snowfke beef," he said, keeping his excitement in check.

Xanthia teased, "You're not shy about picking the most expensive item."

Expensive? At this casual barbecue spot, nothing could really be called pricey, Dionysius thought, though he kept his retort to himself.

Marcus, on the other hand, generously told her to order whatever she liked, eager to impress Dionysius.

Finally, Dionysius added, "Today, Marcus is treating us, but next time, I’ll return the favor. Let’s enjoy ourselves without holding back."

His words put everyone at ease. They felt like genuine friends, and the promise of a future meal made Dionysius’s generosity even more appreciated.

Xanthia nodded quietly. Now was the time to focus on enjoying the meal.

As the dishes began to arrive, Xanthia wanted to grill the food herself but found no opportunity—Dionysius had already taken charge. All she had to do was eat.

She decided to rex and enjoy Dionysius’s attentiveness. After all, this was one of the perks of being a beautiful girl!

Marcus and the others were stunned, particurly Marcus. He couldn't reconcile this behavior with his image of Dionysius.

Leon, unable to contain his curiosity, asked, "Xanthia, what’s your retionship with Dionysius?"

  "I'm his elder sister."

  "She is my little sister."

They both answered at the same time.
